The trail meanders through a peaceful winter landscape, where snow-laden trees reveal glimpses of the pristine beauty within this snowy domain. After following this path for about 2.25 km, you will arrive at the magnificent frozen Orvvosfossen waterfall. Its icy cascade is a breathtaking sight, where water has transformed into ice, blending seamlessly with the serene winter environment. So, strap on your snowshoes, breathe in the fresh winter air, and let the enchanting wilderness of Alta lead your journey as you explore this frozen marvel. Your adventure starts with a 30-minute drive to the historic Gargia Lodge. From the lodge, the journey continues into the Gargia forest. Along the way, enjoy the refreshing winter air and possibly spot some wildlife. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach the frozen waterfall. On the riverbank, take a brief pause to enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks. The tour is a 4.5 km round trip and takes about 1.5 hours to reach the waterfall.
