Wonderful! - I really appreciated being welcomed into farm and having the story of the Sami shared with me, is it a slick tourism business - no it's a generous host and a working reindeer farm - I felt really really well looked after. There were lots of things they had done for our comfort and the reindeer soup was delicious. If you want some super slick Disney version of Sami culture this isn't the tour for you. If you would like to meet some lovely people being kind enough to open their home and culture to you and give you a wonderful experience please go along! It was a really good evening.

Brilliant experience. Well organised and run - Absolutely brilliant trip. Warm clothes provided which I was so grateful for and a brilliant insite (in English) into the Sami life and history of the Sami people given by the owner and chief Herdsman. The Reindeer were adorable - amazing experience to get up close and learn about them. I was a little concerned when booking as there weren't any reviews for this trip but on reading into other trips organised by Authentic North I quickly booked. Staff at Authentic North were quick to respond to a couple of queries I had. Definately recommend. PS. Bear Grills did his Norwegian programme with this Herdsman

A very fun and informative family experience - We had such a great time. A comfortable and smooth ride out from Tromso City Center (about 1 hour 15 minutes) then several hours on the property between feeding the reindeer, sledding, enjoying our stew and some hot chocolate and even roasted marshmallows. We learned about Sami culture by a warm, cozy fire then another easeful trip back to town. Highly recommend!

It was a good tour. we... - It was a good tour. we had fun feeding the reindeers and learning about the Sami culture..the guide and the owners of the farm where all very helpful, informative and friendly. Two small issues I think that if they take bookings for kids below 6 yrs they should be providing thermal suits for kids as well which was not provided for the kids in our group they where given ponchos rather than thermal suits and second the sledding was definitely not 20mins it was more like 5 mins so I would request them to correct their description for the tour for future tourists. Other than that we had a great time

Top of the page - The queens' meal was nice. The sleigh ride is not worth it, the poor queens do not like to pull the sleds unlike dogs who love it, plus “the sled ride” if you can call it that, is actually a roundabout that lasts 15 min. Then there is a lasso throw, A meal with the history of the Sami people that was very interesting. I find it extremely expensive, and with a false turn indication. The tour is sold for a sleigh ride with the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. I expected to take a great sled ride, in the middle of the ride make a fire eat watch the aurora borealis and return to the camp. Here's to that exit. The staff is very kind and the queens very cute.
