Here, the Hardangerfjord, often called the Queen of the Norwegian fjords, is encountered. With the fjord stretching out ahead and majestic mountains rising behind, this charming village perfectly embodies the essence of Western Norway.
From Norheimsund, the journey continues along the Hardangerfjord toward Granvin. Along the way, a scenic 2-minute stop allows time to admire the deep-blue fjord, towering mountain walls, and the quaint villages dotting the shoreline.

The area is beautifully developed with paths, stone steps, viewpoints, rest areas, and even a unique, award-winning toilet. The first stop is at the bottom of the waterfall, where visitors can walk right up to the foot of the cascade and feel the refreshing spray — a natural “shower” from the powerful torrent.
From here, the path can be followed up along the waterfall to the top. If preferred, the bus can be taken through the famous Skjervet hairpin bends to the upper viewpoint, where platforms bring visitors close to the rushing water.
