Fantastic experience - Fantastic experience. We were given warm clothing, given good instructions on how to use the cameras and equipment, and then set off to a bay to wait for the Aurora. The guides (Matteo and another chap) went above and beyond to help and as we had to wait a while before the aurora started, they gave us loads of extra time, which we really appreciated, and the camp fire was fun. Thoroughly recommend.

Great staff, amazing experience seeing the northern lights - We participated in a Lights Over Lapland Aurora tour in early February 2026, and were thrilled to see the Northern Lights on three of the four nights we went out. Our guide Gavin was extremely knowledgeable about the various factors to maximize our chances of seeing the Lights. He was also very personable and made sure everyone in the group had a wonderful time. I was also pleased with all other staff interactions we had with this company, and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a trip to Abisko for an Aurora tour.

Fantastic experience! It will stay in my heart forever! Aurora borealis, beautiful places, and new friends! - My cousin and I took part in a 4-night, 3-day "Custom Aurora Holiday Package," from February 8th to February 12th. The package (in addition to full-board accommodation at STF Abisko Touristation) consisted of 4 nighttime outings to hunt for the Northern Lights, accompanied by a professional guide and including free rental of photographic equipment (camera, tripod) and Arctic overalls. The group, formed on the first day, consisted in a maximum of 8 people and was accompanied by the same dedicated guide throughout the entire trip. THIS was the great strength and what made this holiday memorable: same small group of people and same guide, to have a more refined and intimate experience, and also creating bonds. Our guide Sara was simply FANTASTIC and UNIQUE! Extremely professional, she had everything under control and looked after us from arrival at the airport until departure, also coordinating additional daytime activities with the other specific guides, in addition to being our excellent captain during the nighttime hunt for the Northern Lights. During our nighttime outings, she was always ready to help everyone, offering clear photography tips at every turn (she allowed a TOTAL novice like me to take beautiful photos!), constantly focused on finding the best spots and evaluating the best times to go out to look for the Northern Lights (We saw the Northern Lights every night, including two nights with completely clear skies and at the peak of their activity, which took us to the right spot at the right time!). She was also ready to enrich the experience while waiting for the aurora with alternative activities such as taking photos of the ice formations, sharing anecdotes and songs around the campfire, or playing with us in fun poses and playing with the light. She also proved to be a wonderful person, and it's also thanks to her that our group was so united and enjoyable, and that we returned home not only with beautiful photographs, but also with new friends and a love for this magical land! For daytime activities, we opted for snowshoeing and ice fishing, then spent the rest of the day hiking independently along the trails near the hotel. To Recap: We saw the northern lights every night (two of which were truly spectacular!), admired beautiful landscapes, enjoyed fun daytime activities, and shared unforgettable memories with new friends: what can I say? Abisko experience with Lights Over Lapland is 100% approved!

Sara B. is the best! - Tour guide Sara B. is the best. She beautifully sang a song by the campfire that brought a tear to my eye. The tear froze, but it was totally worth it! They provide you with cold weather gear and fun activities like snowmobiling.

Surely the best company for guided tours in Lapland - There are many companies offering a variety of tours in Lapland, though many of them seem to be operated by Lights over Lapland - so why not book direct with them? I found them extremely helpful booking tour remotely from the UK, with excellent understanding of my needs and excellent advice. As well as the Aurora Phot Adventure, I took their morning hike in the Abisko National Park. Both tours were brilliant, with really knowledgeable and skilled guides. The morning guide really knew about local wildlife which was a particular interest of mine, and she took our small group on a fascinating route around the lake. The evening aurora chase was also terrific, a larger group with two guides, Marco and Mikel, who took to a viewpoint where we saw a fine display of the lights. I'm in my late 70s, much the oldest in the group, and Marco took special care of me, holding my arm when walking and making sure I didn't slip in the icy conditions. Each one of us was loaned a high quality camera with tripod, set for the long exposures necessary to get good shots of the aurora. The viewpoint was round a tepee where we could warm up on reindeer skins beside a stove where the guides heated up cups of hot lingonberry juice. All in all, two terrific experiences from a superbly run and staffed company.
