- Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall - These two waterfalls are situated at the base of Mount Rinjani, which is also part of the trekking route to the highest peak in Lombok. On the journey to these waterfalls, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the protected area, which is part of Mount Rinjani National Park. The predominant trees in Senaru Village are tropical. According to locals, the name Tiu Kelep comes from the Sasak language, where “Tiu” means pool and “Kelep” means fly. The name Sendang Gile originates from a legend about a prince who was chased by a mad lion. He ran into the woods and hid behind the waterfall, which was then named Sendang Gile.
- Senaru Village - A visit to the Senaru Traditional Village, located next to the Rinjani Trek Center where the Rinjani trail begins, is greatly enriched by having a local guide show you around. The Sasak people are the cultural custodians of Mount Rinjani and its surrounding forest, preserving its spiritual significance. Guided tours offer the chance to experience the villagers’ daily life, visit their thatched houses, and explore gardens of fruits and spices.
For a romantic touch, request to see the “sunset view,” where the tropical sun sets against the distant skyline of Bali.
- Masjid Bayan Beleq - The site of Lombok’s oldest mosque, Masjid Kuno Bayan Beleq, is located in Bayan and is believed to date back to the 1700s, around the time Islam first arrived in Lombok. The simple structure of timber, bamboo, and palm thatch rests on a unique stone foundation, interwoven without concrete. Lombok’s distinctive Waktu Telu religion is said to have originated from this historic mosque site.

A must do hike - Well worth the trek to get there, its actually not difficult and cooler in the jungle to hike. You're going to see lots on moneys on the path but they are ok

Dreamlike setting - not as quiet as on Instagram - Very exhausting, but beautiful. Unfortunately no longer an insider tip, therefore far too many tourists who only want your Instagram photo.
But Amira and her team put a lot of effort into it and made the day unforgettable for us in a positive sense.

Spectacular Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Tour - Jun and his team at Bale Laut Tours were incredible. Jun had mastery of the history and language, Nining was exceptional as a trainee tour guide, and Sam was an expert long-distance driver. We were also assisted by local guide Wadi, who impressed us with his deep knowledge of the sites. We had heaps of laughs and cross-cultural exchange as well! Highly recommended!

Amazing waterfalls - What an amazing day, we visited the old village and were made to feel very welcome. Then on to the waterfalls oh wow! We were looked after by the most attentive & beautiful guide Nova who actually did both our tours at our request.

Beautiful Waterfalls and Great Local Experience - A really nice tour with stunning views of the waterfalls. You also visit a local village made of bamboo and see the first mosque in Lombok before heading to the waterfalls. The hike to the falls is relatively short, and I recommend wearing your swimming gear ahead of time if you plan to take a dip. You can shower under the first waterfall, but it’s not advisable to do so under the second. Be sure to bring water shoes, as you’ll need to cross the river twice.
After the hike, you’re treated to lunch, and I must say, it was the best meal we’ve ever had on a tour—lots of food and fantastic flavors.
One thing I found odd was that we had a local guide for the hike, but there were also two extra people—one driver and another ‘guide,’ though the latter didn’t join us on the tour. It would seem more efficient, and likely cheaper, to have the driver also act as the guide and then meet the local guide at the destination.

Really recommend this tour! - A wonderful day out! We had so much fun visiting the waterfalls! Our tour guides were amazing too - and even brought some local sweet treats for the car journey! We also had a photographer come along who made a beautiful album of our day and a reel for Instagram too!! Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a great day. And it’s Such good value for money! The waterfalls are stunning and a must see! We were then taken to a little traditional village where they were all having a little celebration, and then we walked through some rice paddies! We were even taken home via the monkey forest as we hadn’t seen it yet! Really recommend this tour!
