thank you!! - From start to finish my time in Gili T staying in Rumah Canaria and surfing every day was amazing. Nona the receptionist is the loveliest person ever, always happy to give recommendations on where to eat and what activities to do in the day when i wasn’t surfing and always on hand if i needed anything. Gili T surfing is so much fun with perfect waves, Wayan my surf instructor, went completely above and beyond, he was brilliant in the surf helping me to get onto a hard long board on my 3rd lesson! He also took me snorkelling and showed me delicious local food for lunch. Although this camp wasn’t super sociable, it meant i got to spend more time with my instructors, Wayan and Alphin, and with the locals which made my experience so much more enriching. I can’t wait to come back !! Thank you for such a brilliant time :))

I had so much fun! - I really loved the surf lessons! Mega was professional teacher and he really wanted me to learn everything about surfing. I got to test different boards and beaches and learnt a lot. I would highly recommend!

Friendly Instructors. - Really fun afternoon. Highly recommended for those who are beginners. Surf instructors are patient and make it an enjoyable experience.

Great instructor - The lesson itself was great. The instructor helped me catch lots of waves until I was dead tired and the tips he gave were very helpful. The Viator details are a little out of date or missing information. The surf lesson was at 8 am and the location was near the Enjoy Life Bar. I contacted the Kubu Surf School directly on WhatsApp to confirm my booking and he got everything I needed like the rash guard and water shoes and of course surf board.

a top-notch surfing experience and an undoubtedly 5-star recommendation! - Whether you have no experience on board whatsoever or you are an advanced surfer, Kadek is a great instructor for both. As it was my first-time surfing, I went from not being able to stand on the board to catching my own waves in just a week. His recommendation, advices, support and encouragement were timely and always on point. He helps you to choose the right wave which makes the learning really fast but smooth. Kadek also was extremely helpful to my girlfriends who had more background in surfing and by the end of our 10-day trip each of them progressed significantly. Also the camp program was organized ideally, Kadek planned and pre-booked us yoga classes and massages just in time so our bodies can recover for every day surfing without feeling exhausted or sore. And of course, I want to mention separately Kadek’s joyful personality and awesome sense of humor, every training was not just effective but also super fun. Citing the classic, I didn’t like it… I LOVED it ))) Few more words about accommodation in the camp. We stayed in bungalows at Rumah Canaria, which were equipped perfectly (super comfortable bed, nice outdoor shower, AC). The accommodation also included a nice breakfast with coffee/tea. All great of course but what I truly loved were the amazing atmosphere at the camp created by Kadek, Jenny, Dewa, their team and friends. Their outstanding hospitality made this trip absolutely perfect. The highlight of every day was the jamming and singing at the common area in the evening. Each day we were looking forward to return to the camp as we knew it would be so fun. Thank you, guys, you made us feel like a part of the family. See you soon )

The best surf experience in my life :) - The best surf experience in my life :) We spent 10 days in Kubu surfscool together with 2 friends. (and actually all of us would love to stay for 2 months longer there) Kadek is a great coach, he is giving really timely advises to improve your technique, and all of us enjoyed the progress in surfing. (and we all had different levels, which required different approaches). The conditions in the ocean were really good, that we could surf each day (and OMG - the line up was not busy at all) In addition to surfing - we loooved the other activities that were prepared. Sunset yoga experience, massages and singing together, that's all unforgettable) Also, Kadek together with Jenny and Dewa created a unique atmosphere in the camp with beautiful bungalows, common area and a lot of love & support to the guests. We gonna miss you so much and we'll return next year!

Knows what he’s doing - Cool guy. I’ve never surfed in my life and he made it easy. He selects the time for surfing the day of, so watch for this. He picks it when the tide is falling so the waves aren’t as intense as in high tide, which was perfect for learning. I found it really enjoyable, and he was really informative on things like technique and what to be careful about.

AVOID, DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE SURF SCHOOL - It's the most unsafe experience I ever had in my life, especially for a surfer. I spent 4-day at the surf stays with "Kubu Surf School in Gili", and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. From the first day, there were problems. The door handle in my room broke on day one and was never properly addressed. Regarding surfing, I did not receive any real surf lessons. One surf session was cancelled because the conditions were considered “too dangerous,” it was never rescheduled and no refund was offered. The surf conditions themselves were often unsafe. We were taken out at very low tide over sharp reef, where it was possible to touch the reef even while paddling. I witnessed two beginners getting injured, and the instructor told them it was their fault because they “fell incorrectly.” At times, the water was barely knee-deep while surfing directly over uneven reef, which was honestly shocking. The instructor’s behavior was also concerning. He appeared unqualified and would push us onto waves in a way that caused us to fall, then blame us for not knowing how to surf. The video recordings and analysis that were promised were never done or sent. I followed up almost a month later and was told the videos were still being “sorted,” but I have still received nothing. The equipment provided was in poor condition and not suitable. Some items were damaged, which caused burns, sunburn, and minor injuries (for example, reef shoes full of holes). During one session, the “instructor” spent about half the time surfing almost alone and filming himself. He then disappeared entirely without informing me. I later found him back at the board shop, filming on his phone. The session lasted around 1.5 hours instead of the scheduled 2 hours. Thankfully, I already had prior surfing experience; otherwise, these sessions could have been seriously dangerous. I raised all of these issues with Kubu Surf School and sent them a detailed email afterward. Unfortunately, my concerns were ignored, and no concrete response or solution was ever offered. This experience showed a lack of professionalism, poor safety standards, and little regard for customer.

i call it scam - after i finished my booking i didn't get ant message immediately but before 6hrs ago when is this start. whuch is 5:30AM at the harbor surfing at 6am is ridiculous enough, they should've mentioned the time on the website cuz if i know when it is start i would've NEVER booked it since it's non refundable
