A highlight amount highlights - We did separate morning and afternoon game drives in Chobe and both were excellent. Both provided a diversity of wildlife including elephants, hippo, giraffe, buffalo and a range of antelope species and birds. Driver/guides were excellent both times finding resting lions in the afternoon and a pride of a dozen in the early morning stalking a herd of water buffalo on the plains - really spectacular. Highly recommend a visit to this park as the wildlife is abundant and easily located and track are better than many others visited

Amazing!! - The guide took his time and finding animals. I have been with other guides that just tell information that is not accurate. This guide knew accurate information and was patient and entertaining. We even had a boat picnic with tea and biscuits while watching the animals on the shore. We all felt perfectly safe. I felt this was above and beyond my expectations.

It was awesome overall, I would love to go back when I'm not busy - It was worth the trip, absolutely incredible, we did a safari with a local guide called Baqi who speaks Spanish very well, since in my group of friends some did not speak English well, we saw a lioness and her cub that has been for me a wonder.

You get an elephant, you get an elephant - Today, I saw more elephants than people. Chobe offers quality game viewing both by vehicle and boat. It also offers intimate and upclose encounters with Africa's biggest land mamal. In addition to that, numerous herds of Impala, Cape Buffalo's, Hippos, and Giraffes. Fish Eagle, Hornbills, Egrit, Oxpecker's, Hornbills, and our favorite Southern African bird found in the city and Safari Hadeda's.

Great drive through the morning Chobe Park - Four of us drove in a jeep with a guide. In the cool morning air we saw lots of animals despite it being dry season. The guide was great and found lots of groups of animals, including a pride of lions. There was always time for a nice photo.

Exciting excursion into Elephant territory - Exciting and bumpy. The animals are plentiful, particularly the Elephant. The roads are sand and gravel so it can be bumpy but def. worth it !

Chobe - pros and cons - Chobe National Park is almost guaranteed to deliver, when it comes to game drives. In just a few hours we saw hundreds of elephants, zebra, springbok and hippos plus giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe etc. as well as a varied birdlife. That said - considering the exorbitant entrance fees to the park, there should be a little left over to update the signs in the park. Many have, I suspect, been used by elephants etc. to rub itchy spots, the directions on the signs are worn off and impossible to read, or the signs have been tipped over. This goes for Savuti as well. It is very easy to loose your way or end up in dead ends or heading in the wrong directions. As for the tar roads leading to the north of Botswana - they are a disgrace. The road from Sehitwa via Shakawe we named Pothole Avenue - the tar is in some places nonexistent, which is almost to be preferred to giant potholes that are almost impossible to avoid. The same goes for the Maun-Nata-Kasane road. The government of Botswana should be ashamed of not maintaining the infrastructure - but maybe the politicians are more interested in short term mining adventures with foreign investors skimming the profits and ruining the roads with heavy trucks. Botswana could learn a lot from Namibia - if you want to experience Chobe, go via Caprivi if possible. Kasane has a lot of lovely, expensive lodges, campsites and also a growing amount of private guesthouses. The town is growing, but apparently without much thought to the main source of income: Tourism. In the evening, the old centre of Kasane is practically dead, no evening life, except at the lodges and larger guesthouses. A bit of city planning would go a long way. But city planners seem to be interested solely in developing industrial areas and boring mainstream malls on the outskirts of Kasane. We lived in Botswana 30 years ago, back then Kasane was small, but lively and pleasant to visit!

- Firstly we had to get a map of chobe since I forgot mine at home. There is only one shop at the gate who sells the R180.00 map for R400.00. When we entered we discovered that there are no road markings not indications where you must go. There are zero maintenance at reception as well as in the park. Eventually we got to the only picnic site for a pit stop. To our shock we found something like a run down abandoned building and discovered it is the toilets. Only two and you need to hold your breath, run in, stand (do not sit) and try to wash your hands. After we paid a hell of a price to enter we were very disappointed in Chobe and will not return. If things go as it is going now, there will be absolutely nothing left. What we discovered throughout Botswana is that the 'main attractions' require ridiculous entrance fee and absolute NO upkeep nor maintenance. It is just one downward spiral
