Well worth a couple of hours - Went on the Longstone trip as this is the furthest out and I'm not really a bird watcher. Well, it was wonderful. It helped that the boat wasn't too full, and the weather was good. We did sail past the other islands, so got a good view of the bird sanctuary (and a sense of the smell too!). Be aware that you need a little cash to pay for entry to the lighthouse. If you are expecting some kind of cruise liner, then this isn't it - pretty obvious when you visit the harbour, but the boat is fine and the commentary informative without being intrusive. I loved the whole experience - I'll definitely go again when I got the chance, and I think it was good value.

Grey day but still good - Weather not great but well worth the money. Lads on the boat did a great job detailing wildlife and attractions. Visit to lighthouse interesting, note that you don't get to go trigger to the top !

Great trip - Fantastic trip with great commentary. Going to Longstone has always been on my wish list and pleased that we could take the dogs as well. The lighthouse and island were interesting and it’s a shame we could only land for 30 minutes. Would go again but next time we’ll going earlier in the year so we can see more wildlife e.g. puffins and seals.

Wonderful afternoon...the staff were brilliant... - The trip was a lovely way to spend the afternoon with our two nieces from Holland. George the skipper and Steve on commentary were both welcoming and fabulous.
Even though many birds had moved from from nesting season there was still plenty to see and the seals made an appearance.
Getting off the boat at Longstone lighthouse was also a lovely part of the trip, and you really felt like we were out at sea.

Fantastic trip exploring Farne Islands. - Had a fantastic trip out with our skipper and Steve our guide. Lots of history shared and knowledge about wildlife. Highly recommend this company.

Golden Gate trip to Longstone Light House - Great trip out to Longstone Light House which included a sale around the Farne Islands.
The two guys, George the skipper and Steve with his knowledge and Yorkshire delivery were brilliant.
We saw seals, Puffins and so much more.
Can highly recommend this trip.

Really knowledgeable people - Everyone was very helpful from the woman in the ticket office to the boat crew. Tour set off on time and expert commentary was provided throughout. Would definitely book again

A memorable experience - A visit to the Longstone lighthouse is a trip that I have long wanted to do and it fully lived up to my expectations. I am a direct descendant of one of the men (my great great grandfather) who was rescued by Grace Darling and her father and to be there where it happened was a moving experience for me. Our friendly boat men were very knowledgeable and made the whole trip interesting. Seeing the many thousands of birds was a bonus. An excellent trip, I recommend it.

Imposing Lighthouse - We were on a boat trip to the Farne Islands. We got within 50 metres of the rather imposing Longstone Lighthouse which looks exactly like the photo's depict it.

Adequate but not especially well done - I enjoyed the trip overall because the Farne Islands are well worth seeing and this 2 hour boat trip did deliver on showing the beauty of the area. However, there was little commentary and no interaction with the pilot and his assistant. The description of the birds was perfunctory and I felt the crew were just going through the motions. I was discomforted by the heavy fumes coming from the back of the boat, where I sat to take in the views, but that probably isn't the fault of the company; I think they would all be like that. There is no toilet on board, which should be in the description; however, there was one at the lighthouse. There was a steady stream of boats all going to the Farne Islands so it felt a bit like Heathrow Airport and maybe that's why the operator seemed to be in a hurry. I'm not sure I would pick this operator again but I don't know how I'd be able to tell the difference between the 4 or 5 companies offering this trip.
