Excellent trip - Excellent trip. Nice boat friendly crew and great view of the seals and islands. The walk around the island was interesting but at this time of the year a lot of the breeding birds had left. There was a siting of a Minke whale but we just missed it. Good value for money trip

A thoroughly enjoyable 3 hour experience - Whole trip informative and very interesting. Bird sanctuary outstanding. Apart from being dive bombed by the Artic Terns (wear a hat ) that might give you a light peck on the head the whole experience was wonderful. Terns and puffins by the thousands and a huge variety of other birds too. The three hour trip was a great experience and really good value for money

Great day with a great crew! - Chris, the skipper and the rest of the staff made every effort to make us feel welcome upon arrival at the harbour and once we were on board the Golden gate itself. The sea was quite choppy on the day and it was very obvious that the skipper knew exactly how to keep you safe and allow you to enjoy the trip with no concern (well done skip). Chris’s commentary was bang on, extremely informative, packed full of history, his knowledge of the bird species that visit the islands was great and kept your attention. If you want a proper trip on a proper boat with a proper skipper the Golden gate will see you right. Enjoy!

A fabulous trip, and we... - A fabulous trip, and we were so delighted to see such a variety of birds up close-especially the Puffins, Arctic Terns and their chicks, and Cormorants. The Seal colonies were impressive too. The Chapel was lovely, and the woodwork particularly impressive. We were lucky with the weather, and the only thing that would have improved the outing is the commentary being louder. It was really informative but quite hard to hear over the noise of the engine. Ticket staff, Crew and National Trust staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Views of the coast- Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, and the beaches- from sea were beautiful. A really great trip with our grandchildren. Thanks.

Golden Gate Trip to Inner Farne a must. - Fantastic trip to the Inner Farne Bird Sanctuary. The crew of the Golden Gate were excellent and very informative. The lady who was at the kiosk when I checked in was lovely. Would recommend and the folks from the National Trust were also very helpful and knowledgeable about the island and wildlife. Get booked soon if you want to see the Puffins before they leave to go back out to see. I will do this trip again A photography must!!!

Superb wildlife boat trip - Wonderful small group (30) wildlife boat trip to the Farne Islands. The crew gave us ample time and opportunities to see varied wildlife and take photos. The highlight of a wonderful afternoon was a 1hr visit to Inner Farne to see puffins, arctic terns and other nesting seabirds close up.

Puffin Heaven and More - This was an amazing trip, giving us everything it promised. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, without stupid jokes. The island landing and walk were fantastic, always a very close up experience with the birds. Our trip was helped by glorious weather.

Lovely tour - tour guide was bored. - The trip was lovely - beautiful scenery and lots of birds. The guides on the island were very enthusiastic and helpful. Our boat tour guide looked and sounded bored. Many times there were great things to see but he had no enthusiasm to point them out and say what they were. He only had his pre-set droning patter often given after it may have been helpful.
