a wonderful experience - Going down into the cave to see the glowworms with a knowledgeable guide was a great idea; the guide helped fill in geological and biological contexts that are not obvious.

Fantastic Glow Worm Cave Experience - Approximately 12 KM from Highway 1. Our excellent tour guide was the owner. A short hike to the cave with stops explaining the general geology. Once inside the cave there was a lot of detailed explanation of the glow worm life cycle. Easy walking both outside and inside the cave. Lots of glow worms that you can see up close. This was by far the best caving and glow worm experience I’ve ever had. Highly recommend it.

Best Ever Glow Worms - So glad we got off the beaten path to go see this glow worm cave. It’s just incredible and informative and a very easy hike in for this old 68 year old. The cave is a hidden treasure in New Zealand and truly a Milky Way constellation of glow worms. There were some young children on our tour who also loved it! And you do not walk through any water.

Such a special find! - Our family aged from 8 to 75 enjoyed a brilliant visit to these glorious caves, which are reached through pretty farm county just 13Km from Waipu village. The hour long tour is beautifully guided and includes lots of intriguing info for young & older. I've been to Waitomo but had forgotten how special these wee glow-worms are. With more activities planned for the future this is a park well worth visiting.

Great time at the caves - The caves are absolutely beautiful and well worth the visit. Our guide, Jayjay was wonderful! Such a unique place, and the conservation work going on there by the owners is to be commended.

Must visit - Amazing place to visit. The staff and guide were fantastic, so knowledgeable and passionate. We have done cave tours all over the world and this was the best by far, not the usual tourist attraction. A must visit, even if you’re in Auckland, 2 hours away.
