Best way to visit Hanauma Bay - Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay was a highlight of our trip. The beach was comfortable with near by bathrooms and showers to rinse off. Snorkeling with the fish was one of our best memories made in Hawaii. By booking with Kaimana Tours, we had transportation to the Bay and back to our hotel, nice snorkeling equipment and a guaranteed ticket into the limited access park. We usually plan our own tours but this was the exception and was a brilliant decision.

Snorkeling paradise - Get there early or get a tour, sells out fast! Wonderful underwater experience & sea life! A must do, but you need to get tickets ahead of time!

We really enjoyed this... - We really enjoyed this excursion overall. Diogo was great—he shared interesting information about the island during the drive, which added a lot to the experience. One thing to note is the beach setup. We paid extra for beach chairs, an umbrella, and pool noodles, but on a windy day the umbrellas really didn't hold in the sand. It’s probably not the best idea to pay extra for them since they end up blowing away. We also thought we would have a bit more guidance with the snorkeling itself, but the tour ends once you get to Hanauma Bay. It would have been nice to have someone point out the coral areas and spots to avoid. Overall, it was a very cool excursion—just wish there was a little more guidance once at the bay.

Better than a lift ride both ways. - Had to cancel one of two reservations, that worked out fine. Pick up was on time. Had the right size fins for me. Driver was pleasant and professional. They collected money from a group of 10 of us, walked us up to the park entrance/official where we paid, again in a group of 10. At 12:30 they arrived back with the van right where they said they would, and we were home by 1:00.

Hanauma Bay Magical Day - Really well organised. But be prepared for some standing around as groups are taken into the bay slowly. So have some water and a snack with you. Plenty of fish to see but it is very shallow. Highly recommend wearing a long body suit as sometimes the waves or currents will brush you up onto the reef. You are not meant to touch the reef so be extremely careful.

The driver was right on... - The driver was right on time and the ride to our destination was smooth. He gave a small tour on our way to Hanauma Bay and was very informative. It was our first time snorkeling and our driver gave excellent directions and tips on using the equipment and where to snorkel.

Beautiful bay, convenient transportation and equipment rental - Hanauma Bay was beautiful. Unfortunately we went during King Tide, so the water was turbulent, and the snorkeling was cloudy, but my family did see fish. Yes, you can drive yourself or book an Uber at lower cost. Yes, that driver probably could point out various attractions and give you suggestions, too. However, in addition to transportation, you are also paying for the convenience of having someone handle the reservation/timed entry (limit of 1400 visitors per day) as well as rental of additional equipment like noodles, life jackets, boogie boards, etc. from Kaimana Tours instead of having to stand in another line at the beach to rent equipment. Our driver Luiz was very friendly, polite and helpful when it came to safety tips. Pick up was really early at 5:40am. It was strange to have to pay the $25/person park admission separate from the tour fee. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Hanauma Bay; however, which method you get there, depends on what you’re willing to pay for convenience.

Don't expect 5 hours snorkeling - They say it's 5 hours but not really. They don't pick up from our hotel so we had to go to a meeting point at a different hotel. The free parking was a block away. They said if we were more than 5 minutes late they would leave without us even though we told them we just found the parking and were walking there. However after cramming into the van, he then drove to the bay, but passed up the entrance and went to a lookout point. He said we had 5 minutes if we wanted to get out and take pictures....5 minutes, so everyone was afraid to get out since it would take that amount of time just to get out. But then we sat there for 25 minutes!!!! He said he had to wait until the other vans that were there were ready. It's now 640. Finally we start to go back but then pull off again for 5 minutes. We finally get to the bay, he collects our cash entrance fee money that is not included in the money we paid to them. Gets a number and gives it to one of the guests on this excursion telling her she is the "ticket holder". We all then have to wait in certain lines until that ticket number was called, which was another 15-20 minutes. When we were called we went to ticket booth paid our way then had to stand in ANOTHER line to wait to get in the theater to watch the safety video. By the time we finally got to the beach it was 8am and we had to be back to the van at 11am. He made sure we knew that we couldn't be late, yet he didn't even arrive until 11. On the bright side, it was nice to have guaranteed entrance and the water was beautiful. Saw many beautiful fish. And in the end, the driver was nice enough to drop us off at the free parking so we didn't have to walk from the hotel.

The bay is beautiful, but... - The bay is beautiful, but the $50 paid just to be taken there, left and then taken honestly is a bit 'too much, considering that they do not include the $25 for admission .. plus we were withdrawn at 5.40 in the morning for a half-hour drive and then set foot on the beach practically at 8... if you can book the entrance independently ..
