It is the largest natural harbor in Hawaii and the top visitor destination on Oahu.

Today, Pearl Harbor is an active military base, the Headquarters of the Pacific Fleet, and a National Historic Landmark featuring four unique attractions. From the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor to the Japanese surrender on the Battleship Missouri, these sites collectively narrate the story of the War in the Pacific, honoring the achievements of a past generation.

• Pearl Harbor National Memorial - Visit the home of the USS Arizona Memorial and learn about one of WWII’s most pivotal moments in US history. • USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park - The USS Bowfin (SS-287) is a fleet attack submarine that served in the Pacific during WWII, popularizing the term “Silent Service.” Launched on December 7, 1942, exactly one year after the Pearl Harbor attack, she was nicknamed the Pearl Harbor Avenger, making her permanent home at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, quite fitting.
• Battleship Missouri Memorial - Tour the USS Missouri, affectionately known as “Mighty Mo.” After participating in the final year of the war with Japan, Mighty Mo was the site of Japan’s official surrender. Beyond its historical importance, Mighty Mo provides insight into life aboard a battleship.
• Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum - Located on historic Ford Island, a 441-acre island in Pearl Harbor, the museum is where some of the largest ships of the U.S. Pacific Fleet were moored on December 7, 1941. Situated in an authentic World War II-era hangar, Hangar 37 houses artifacts that recount America’s involvement in World War II, from the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor to the Battle of Midway and beyond.

Hangar 79 continues the story from Hangar 37, showcasing the rise of American air superiority established in World War II and its progression through the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf Wars.
