Family Wildlife Tour - We went on the wildlife tour with 3 children and 3 adults. We were the only 6 on the tour and we went at mid-day. The guides tailored the tour to us wonderfully. We saw spinner dolphins, a huge sea turtle and two different kinds of sharks. The guides tried their best to go as fast or as slow as we were comfortable with. We had a wonderful time and would do it again for sure!

Fantastic Impromptu Experience - This was an amazing experience. We had planned a day to explore the North Shore area and while standing on the beach looking at the water decided a boat ride would be great. We booked an open trip just a couple of hours ahead of the departure time as a marine life tour. There were other passengers that had booked Snorkeling and the shark tour so we had the great fortune of getting to experience all 3. This company went out of their way to make this a great experience. We saw and did MANY things on our 6 day trip to Oahu but this impromptu boat ride turned out to be our favorite. Highly recommend.

Great experience - Great experience. There were eight of us ranging in ages from 10 to 63. We really didn't know what to expect but had an amazing experience. The owner was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable. We saw dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, and whales up close almost to the point we could touch them from the boat. Highly recommended.

A great day on the ocean in Mid March 2025 - Lilly and Gunner provided an amazing day and narrative. We were surrounded by Dolphins, saw multiple Pods of Whales and were in the middle of Galapagos sharks right at the side of the boat. My wife and I recommend Ocean Outfitters to all those who want a great experience.

Awesome experience for the whole 'ohana! - Lived here all my life & this was the first time we went on a marine life tour. I highly recommend this experience for both kama'aina & visitors! The staff were knowledgeable & went over & beyond to ensure our safety & a top notch experience. We saw so many whales, dolphins, flying fish, & sharks. It was truly amazing & an unforgettable experience with the 'ohana!

Whales - Amazing experience. The whales were active. One swam right under our zodiac! Our captain was terrific! We could tell the babies from their mother. Bottle nose dolphins were swimming with the whales.

Epic Whale Watching - This tour company was amazing! We had the best guides. Lily and crew were so knowledgeable about the whales and got just as excited as we did when we saw them. We were fortunate to see a mama and baby whale. Jacob made it even better by sending up his drone so we could see them bird's eye. EPIC!!

The best whale watching tour. - We had an amazing time with the amazing crew at Ocean Outfitters. We saw several whales, a Galapagos shark, a turtle and even some flying fish. The ladies were so knowledgeable and friendly and the music was spot on. Highly recommended

Great staff! - We were unlucky in viewing whales--though we did see signs of one. The staff was great and did everything possible for us to see more. That said, our family was treated to a shark viewing, which we enjoyed immensely. The grandkids loved learning about the sealife. We will try again on our next visit.

A Cautionary Tale of the Marine Life Tour that Wasn’t - The boat ride over waves was fun and thrilling. Unfortunately, our marine life tour was compromised when the captain accommodated shark snorkelers from a previously canceled trip. What was supposed to be a "5-minute" stop ended up consuming nearly half of our tour time as we sat in rough seas watching others snorkel. Both families on board experienced seasickness, with children puking during this extended wait. The captain seemed dismissive, offering water only to rinse the boat rather than for the sick children, and merely assured us "we'd feel better once we started moving again" – which missed the point that we shouldn't have been sitting there that long in the first place. We understand marine life is unpredictable - we did briefly spot a sea turtle and whale spout in the distance, but only because a fellow passenger pointed them out while the captain seemed distracted with personal guests. It's reasonable to expect: 1) you'll get the tour you paid for, 2) the guide will be interactive and focused on spotting marine life, and 3) even if little is spotted, the guide will share interesting information about the area. Unfortunately, none of this happened. Safety concerns were also apparent. Life jackets weren't proactively offered for children despite the rough conditions that frequently lifted passengers from their seats. At one point, a storage compartment seat even popped open while someone was sitting on it. You can’t just tell kids to hang on and hope for the best. For the price, this tour delivered only half of what was promised. While the sharks were impressive, the experience fell short of expectations in terms of focus, safety, and value. Tip for future guests: Book another tour company, and take Dramamine.
