This experience could not have been better. From start to finish, Victor, our chef-guide, was just amazing. He made the experience fun and very informative. We most enjoyed the trip to the local market followed by the experience of making tortillas, empanadas, traditional mole, and delicious salsas. The whole experience was masterfully organized and perfect for both an experienced cook as well as for participants with less experience in the kitchen. Everything we did in Oaxaca was magical, but this was the acme.

The guide/chef was great and we enjoyed the class. But I felt the title and description of the class didn’t match the content. The title suggested we’d make several moles (where our interest lies) but in fact we made only one mile and a while bunch of other things we already know how to make.

With our guide, we shopped, then chopped, then we handmade tortillas and quesadillas from prepared más, then cooked, the ate our meal. Fun hands on experience.

We were somewhat disappointed as it felt most of our focus was on making the salsa and cutting/cooking veg to go with the mole. The helper is the one who took the mole a d blended it with us not even being there. Also the type of mole seemed a very simple one. Even at the dinner the guide didn't seem to pay us any attention and was on their phone.
