Originally, I am from the Zoque ethnic community in the Isthmus Region, which is a part of the Oaxaca state. I hail from a family whose traditions revolve around chocolate. I am eager to share my experiences and the knowledge I have garnered over time about cocoa. You will have an opportunity to savor how cocoa’s taste changes based on the preparation.

Must try experience in Oaxaca - Fantastic experience learning about cacao! Thank you Lucy for such a great time, generosity, and patience answering all our questions across the four of us! I highly recommend everyone to pop by. The pataxte cacao was incredible - a must try!

One of our best Oaxacan experiences - Our guide, Asomali, was wonderful; so friendly, and so knowledgeable. We tasted, we learned, we laughed a lot. We had such fun! After our time with her we felt we had made a new friend, and also had so much information that we wanted to share. We bought lots of chocolate to take back to the US. The experience was simply one of our best highlights of our trip to Oaxaca.

This was such a wonderful... - This was such a wonderful experience. My kids and I learned a lot and especially loved being hands-on. The teachers are sincere, knowledgeable and passionate. Great with kids! This experience and company are AMAZING.

If you love Choclate don't miss out! - This is a must on a trip to Oaxaca. I loved the history along with making our chocolate drinks from start to finish. The team at Chimalapa is so full of energy and fun that this experience was a highlight of our trip.

Chocolate, from tree to table - Fascinating. Historical and cultural background of cacao, as well as information about the science of chocolate. Then there's the fun part of sampling and making chocolate drinks. Entertaining and informative.
