- Wine Museum Koutsogiannopoulos - As the only one of its kind in Greece, the Wine Museum is situated in a natural cave. It is eight meters underground, 300 meters long, and has a labyrinth-like design. The museum showcases the history of wine and the lives of vine-growers in Santorini from 1660 to 1970. Visitors can explore the history of wine through semi-mobile and still-life figurines. An automatic audio guide is available in fourteen languages (Greek, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Portuguese, and Brazilian Portuguese), and a guidebook is offered in twenty-two languages (Greek, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, and Serbian).
- Venetsanos Winery - Venetsanos Winery is located just above the port of Athinios, offering breathtaking views of Santorini’s caldera. The Venetsanos family has a rich tradition in wine production. Initially, the wine was produced for the island and later extensively exported, particularly to countries like Russia. Built in 1947 by the Venetsanos family, it became the first industrial winery on the island. Its most notable feature is the architectural design, which cleverly utilized gravity for energy efficiency, at a time when access to electricity and other energy sources was very limited. The winery was uniquely constructed from the top downwards.
