Day Tour Review - It was so cool to see a different side of Tokyo! We went to so many cool places and despite it starting to rain halfway through the tour we still got to do most of the activities. Would highly recommend!!

A hidden gem on the edge of the city. - Who would have thought that this stunning area is on the edge of Tokyo. What a treat to see nature at its best. A full, well planned day of exploring with a great guide. He was also interesting and considerate of our needs and wants.

Exceptional - This tour definitely delivers what it promises . We’ve just returned from a most wonderful day full of different sites and activities, experienced all in the beauty of Japan’s outdoors. A most welcome break from the hustle and bustle of cities, cultural sites and learning how to get around. We do not need to repeat what all the reviewers have said about this tour, Ayumi, our guide, and the itinerary. They have said it well. But we do want to address the exception of 1 negative which, from the reviewer’s point of view was understandable because the tour was cancelled with short notice. But having spent 14 hours with Ayumu and knowing that he is the creator and only tour guide of this tour we believe he only did so for an unexpected and valid reason. He is committed to sharing the other side of Japan. When we return to Canada I plan on spreading the word that this is definitely a tour they want to look at if they ever come to Tokyo, Japan. Thank you Ayumu for an exhilarating day. Sydney & Jim New Westminster, BC Canada Sent from my iPhone

Best trip ever-- seriously. - This day trip was literally the best day of our trip to Tokyo. We were initially a little hesitant due to the small number of [all very good] reviews-- I am so glad we went for it and booked the tour. This is not a big commercial tour company. This is one guy in his very nice, very clean van, taking you around to all the best places just outside of Tokyo-- places you would never manage to find on your own. We saw things you'd never be able to see in a big tour bus. We journeyed through mountains and tiny villages. We visited an amazing cave and nearby shrine. We walked across a suspension bridge. We saw where wasabi grows. We took a tiny train-type-vehicle up a 43 degree slope through a cedar forest to see a 300 year old traditional house. We had a lovely lunch overlooking gorgeous scenery. We hugged a stone wall as we walked right up against a rushing river. We walked along a waterfall. (I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out!). Finally, we ended at a scenic hot springs where, our guide walked us through the process (which, to me, was invaluable). I am so glad we took this trip. Our tour guide was warm, knowledgeable and thought of every little detail.

Hidden gem day trip for adventurous nature lovers! - Wonderful full day experiencing all these fun places and beautiful sights I wouldn’t have known to go to myself or been able to get to easily. Guide is very sweet and small group size makes for a well-paced and more intimate setting. Highly recommend!

Okutama and Hinohara Village group trip - Well..i visited Japan for the first time and on Day 1 i did this tour with Ayumu and other fellow travelers. Ayumu is one of a kind person you can come across. He drove us in his car throughout the trip with 0 issues. He guided and explained everything about Okutama and Hinohara village with explicit details. Not only that, He was so respectful to always open the car door for me. For travelers who would love to explore the other side of Japan, this trip is definitely suggested. Just a few hours from Tokyo.

If you’re thinking of booking, do it! Worth every minute to be immersed in nature! - Ayomo, our host, gave my family & other guests 100% into making sure that our tour to Okutama was varied & interesting. There were so many different highlights to this tour it’s difficult to choose just one so I’ll say a few. Safe & friendly host/driver, small group of just 6 guests, a day in nature surrounded by mountains & fresh air, limestone caves (wear sports shoes, there’s a lot of exploring & steps), the steep rail trip up the mountain to the traditional house, exploring waterfalls, & the end where Ayomo took us to an onsen (included in the price)! We loved this tour & highly recommend it. It’s a long day but worth seeing the beauty just out from Tokyo city. Thank you for a fantastic day Ayomo!

Fun experience! - Our guide was very nice, I would recommend booking this tour. The places we went to, without a car would have been very difficult to get to. For example the caves, the buses do not take your directly so you would have to walk a long time

"Nature bathing" near Tokyo. - A surprise experience around every corner on reaching the largely forgotten region of Okutama. Reasonable fitness probably needed to appreciate all the sights (small excursions). Our host was generous with the time allowed for each location. If you want to escape the city for a day, this mini adventure is for you and you couldn't wish for a more hospitable guide.

Ghosted - They cancelled without any explanation the day before. Luckily I was able to find another tour to join in Hakone at the last minute. It would have been nice to at least have some sort of explanation.
