Operating Schedule: Embark on a unique and unforgettable journey through the Ria Formosa, one of Portugal’s most stunning and protected natural areas. Discover Culatra Island, Armona Island, or Desert Beach on this sunset boat tour along Ria Formosa. Enjoy visiting the fisherman’s island, swimming on a deserted beach, or exploring Armona Island while admiring a beautiful sunset on the return trip. Travel in small groups of up to 18 people.

Your guide will provide insights about the Ria Formosa and the islands throughout the boat tour and assist with anything you need. During the stops, all guests are free to explore for the time specified by the captain. You won’t experience seasickness during the ride, as we sail only within the Ria Formosa.

• Culatra Island

First, stop at Culatra Island for about 45 minutes to explore this remarkable fishing community. Culatra is home to around 1,000 residents who live on this fishing island year-round, where fishing has been the main industry for many generations. The island features 2 schools, 1 church, 1 football team, several restaurants, cafes, and souvenir and craft shops. A local bakery produces delicious cakes that surprise our guests with their authentic taste.

• Desert Beach

Next, if it’s summer, we head to Desert Beach. You’ll be immediately captivated by the breathtaking landscape of golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and the natural vegetation along the coast. This beach is renowned for its tranquility, away from the crowds, making it perfect for relaxation, a refreshing swim, or simply appreciating the beauty of the surroundings. The calm, transparent water invites a refreshing dip, while the fine sand is ideal for a leisurely seafront stroll.

Accessible only by boat, this beach is always more secluded than the island beaches. In this idyllic location, the white sand and crystal-clear water make it one of the most desirable beaches in the Algarve and the highlight of this tour.

This stop offers a unique chance to escape the fast pace and enjoy the pure, wild beauty of Culatra Island. Despite the brief visit, the tranquility of this place will be etched in memory, becoming one of the most memorable moments of the journey through the Ria Formosa. • Island of Armona

If the weather is windy, cold, or if it’s winter, we will swap the deserted beach for the wonderful Island of Armona! In this case, this charming island is inhabited year-round by both locals and tourists. It’s the perfect spot for a coastal walk, where you can admire the flowers and gardens of the houses, many of which are available for rent during the summer. Additionally, the island features a charming beach facing the Ria Formosa, with beachfront cafes, ideal for a break with a drink or a meal while exploring the area. During the tour, we will make a 30-45 minute stop so you can enjoy the serene and unique atmosphere.

On this tour, you will experience a blend of incredible adventures, discovering white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, islands, and communities. Additionally, you will appreciate the rich nature of Ria Formosa, with its diverse fauna and flora. You will also have the chance to taste local cuisine and typical dishes of the island and the region. Moreover, during the journey, you will learn about fishing techniques, customs, and traditions, making this tour a comprehensive experience.
