Site of first ancient Olympic Games from Katakolon - Very worth the €15 bus fare and the €5 for the tour with George - he was very informative and very friendly and always made sure everyone understood meeting points and times . One could go into the Archeological site ( €20 entrance fee for the site and the new museum) we chose not to so vowed it all from outside. Then a photo with the latest Olympic torch and then Back to the village with time for a stroll around the shops or a visit to the museum of inventions or a drink and a bite to eat. He assured us he would get us back to the ship on time and did so! Total time 4 hours

Bus ride to Olympia - George was a great host for our travels to Olympia! Would highly recommend!

Olympia tour - George was very good guide, very knowledgeable and helpful, all in all we had a really great day.

UNORGANIZED MESS - The only reason I am a 3 is because or Geroge, otherwise this would be much lower. We booked this in advance of our cruise on viator. The instructions said that the office was visible from outside of the port gate, and it was not. We ended up asking one of the people who were shouting in other languages and she pointed us in the right direction. We walked behind a tent to the side of a building where we showed our confirmation and a man just wrote us a ticket. We arrived exactly at the time of our ticket, and another man told us we had to wait 45 minutes to an hour for the next bus because the current one was already full. Annoying, but ok, he tells us to go shopping for a bit and come back in 45 minutes. We do this and he instructs us to go wait with another group of people. The whole time they were selling more tickets to people walking up from the street. We line up with the group and then finally we start waking to a bus. Well that bus was already halfway full, because they had started telling people who recently purchased to get on the bus, while all the people who had purchased tickets earlier before the bus arrived to wait. We started to form lines to get on the bus, and then they opened the middle door for folks to get on. He stopped us at the middle door because they said it was full, but the front-line people were still getting on. The rest of us left outside, were told no more seats were then told to wait for a 3rd bus! Several of us in the group were very upset because it was just so unorganized. We then got on the 3rd bus with George, and he was fabulous. He tried to make the best of an awful situation, because they told us to get on the bus on our tickets, and all of our tickets had bus#4, which we couldn't fit on, and we just wanted to make sure we would have a ride back because our tickets said #4. Geroge offered to give people a private tour for an additional cost, which we did no do, because I was angry at that point and felt I had given them enough of my money. We toured the site and 2 museums by ourselves, and we never saw Geroge and the others, but I assume they all had a good time. The same confusion happened on the return, as there were people trying to get on our bus that hadn't been on our bus before, and not everyone fit, so some people were left there waiting for another bus. As long as I had a seat I was fine, but I knew that this would happen again. Anyway, it was a cheap transport, but not worth the stress and confusion caused by the disorganization. The bottom line is the oversold the buses and didn't give priority to those who had pre-booked, or purchased earlier.

This is NOT a tour! It’s a bus ride. - This was nothing more than a bus ride to and from the port to Olympia. All our “guide” said was meet the bus back at 1:00. It is misleading to say this is a tour when you can easily catch a bus cheaper yourself. They only give you 2.5 hours to walk to and explore Olympia and you have to buy a 20 euro ticket to enter! Not near enough time to get your money worth. Disappointing.

I didn't take any - I would have skipped it. They are all very kind, but the truth is the city has no appeal.
