During the civil wars between 1718 and 1747, it was twice seized by Persians. The fort has since been extensively rebuilt.

Great city tour with ali - The city tour of Muscat was great all around. Our tour guide Ali is very nice, relaxed and made the tour pleasant and interesting. We felt comfortable at all times and could learn a lot about the city and culture. Everything was well organized and went smoothly. Highly recommended – thanks to Ali for this beautiful day!

Great private Tour in Mascat with Said - Said our Tour Guide was great as he’s grew up in Maskat and knows the best sites and inside stories. We enjoyed being taken around the city of Maskat with him.

Half-Day Tour of Muscat - We spent a wonderful half-day tour in Muscat with our guide, Ahmed Alghammari, and it was truly a memorable experience. Ahmed was knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we enjoyed every moment.

Amazing overview of Muscat - We had an amazing time with Khalil. He was friendly, gave great information about Oman and its history. He was also very patient with our group since we love to take photos along the way. I highly recommend the tour and ask for Khalil!

Through Our Lens: A Stunning Muscat experience with Hamood - We had an amazing experience with our guide, Hamood! From the moment we booked until the very end of the tour, everything was absolutely perfect. Hamood shared so much knowledge and effortlessly balanced visits to the charming old town with impressive new highlights. The half day went entirely at our pace, with special attention to photography, and we never felt rushed. He went above and beyond to show us places and moments we would never have discovered on our own. Truly a fantastic guide and wonderful experience — highly recommended!

Excellent half day Muscat City tour - We did the half day Muscat City Tour with Khalil as our guide. It was excellent. We were picked up on time in a 4WD, the car was spotless. Khalil spoke superb English and he has a very relaxed manner which we enjoyed and he provided great information on all the sites we visited. We definitely use Sunshine Tours again.

Mascate is amazing!! - Ahmed was the best guide, he was patient and explain everything to us, we did a lot of questions and he always have a kind answer, Omán have a very nice culture and the best way to ge around is with sunset deserts

We really liked it - We booked a half day tour of Muscat and had Nasr as our guide. We fully enjoyed the whole tour and he was so kind to spend extra time with us so we had something to do before our transfer left Muscat later that afternoon.
