Ambrolauri - The Barakoni Church of the Mother of God is an Orthodox church near Ambrolauri, in the village of Tsesi, in the mountainous western province of Racha (modern-day Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti). Commissioned in 1753 by the local lord Rostom of Racha, the church was designed by architect Avtandil Shulavreli, whose name is inscribed on the eastern façade. This domed cruciform church is one of the last significant monuments of medieval Georgian architecture, built with neatly trimmed stones and adorned with rich ornamentation. Although closed and desecrated during Bolshevik rule, it was quickly repaired after suffering minor damage in the 1991 Racha earthquake. Perched atop a steep cliff, it overlooks the Rioni River, which merges with the Lukhuni River below the mountain.
Shovi - Shovi is a mountain climatic and health resort located on the southern slopes of the main Caucasus ridge in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region of Georgia, renowned for its carbonated water.
