A Change of Plans

As a seasoned family travel writer, I know that sometimes the best adventures come from unexpected changes. Our family had planned a sunset cruise on a 52’ Catamaran, but a last-minute call informed us that the cruise was canceled. The crew, led by the charismatic Capt Schmidty, was attentive and knowledgeable, pointing out various wildlife and sharing interesting facts about the area.

With a signature cocktail in hand, I watched the sun dip below the horizon, feeling grateful for the unexpected change in plans. The Explorer’s ability to navigate close to the shoreline allowed us to experience the beauty of Orange Beach in a way that few others can. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best memories are made when we embrace the unexpected.
