From there, venture onto the Columbia River, staying close to the shore and allowing the gorge’s wind to guide you to the next cove while admiring the grandeur of this remarkable river. The breeze will carry you to Government Cove, where a secluded cove teeming with wildlife awaits.

Take a break on the shore to enjoy some water and observe the birds soaring over the water.

After further exploration of the stunning Government Cove, paddle back to shore and take a brief 5-minute shuttle ride back to the starting point. The shuttle enables a downwind paddle, making this tour ideal for those who can walk about 100 yards through the woods and are comfortable in a kayak.
