A++ tour! - This tour was incredible from the booking through the entire tour. Camille and Wayne are super professional and very knowledgeable. Camille provided great information with a fun sense of Humor. They picked wineries that were great for us and made us a delicious lunch to enjoy while sipping our wines. We will be back to Oregon to do this again with them!

Everything we wanted! - This was our first time visiting the Willamette Valley and my husband and I had no idea where to start. We wanted to make the most of our time and booked a private tour with A Great Oregon Wine Tour. Wayne, one of the owners, reached out to us immediately to thank us for booking, to ask what we would like from our tour, and if there were any specific wines/wineries that we had in mind to explore/visit. We told him that we enjoyed Pinot Noir and our goal was to learn more about it and find some really great bottles to send home and enjoy. We also said that we didn’t want to blow in and out of lots of wineries but preferred quality over quantity and wanted a relaxing day visiting places that would provide a more personalized experience. Camille, the co-owner of A Great Oregon Wine Tour and Wayne’s wife, was our guide for the day. She picked us up at our hotel in McMinnville in a nice minivan and shared information about the area on our way to the first stop, Patricia Green Cellars. The winery was expecting us and we were welcomed with a glass of wine to enjoy while we got settled and enjoyed the breathtaking views of the vineyard. Our tasting included a lovely cheese and snack tray that we enjoyed while tasting lots of different wines that were discussed in detail by our tasting consultant (who was amazing). We did not pay a tasting fee because we had a number of bottles shipped to our home, but I believe it would have been about $50 per person had we not made the wine purchase. The fee would have been well worth it based on the number of wines we tasted, the personalized attention we received, and the lovely snacks that were provided. Prior to our second stop we had a little extra time so Camille took us to Durant Oregon Olive Mill to taste a few olive oils. They offer mill tours which we may do on a future trip to the Willamette Valley. It was a nice stop after which we headed to try wines from Moffett Vineyards. I’ll start by saying that meeting Trent Moffett was probably our favorite part of the day. We sat with the actual vintner and winemaker and tasted a selection of his wines while learning so much and hearing his amazing stories. This stop was not what one might expect–it was a mini trailer that was situated on a gravel parking lot and didn’t have much of a view at all. It did not have running water and used a generator or battery to power the lights and the restroom was a port-a-potty. I may have raised my eyebrow when we were pulling up, but I really must say that our time with Trent was unmatched. He is so knowledgeable and kind and humble–and his wines are absolutely wonderful! The tasting fee here would have been $20 per person. Again, it would have been well worth it based on the many wines we experienced and the time we spent with Trent learning about them but the fee was waived because we did order bottles of the wines we enjoyed most. After our Moffett Vineyards wine tastings with Trent, Camille brought out lunch to eat while we were there. The lunch itself consisted of hearty turkey sandwiches, chips, fresh fruit, roasted hazelnuts, and cookies. It was very nice and Trent poured us glasses of wine to accompany our meal. I will say that I thought our picnic lunch would be at a more scenic location where my husband and I could visit and enjoy lunch while looking at Oregon’s beautiful countryside or vineyards. I also would have preferred a real bathroom with running water to wash my hands and not a port-a-potty. However, I did not communicate that to Camille and I know from our lovely treatment the entire day that if I had asked, she would have gladly taken us to a more scenic location for our picnic lunch. I know that many/most wineries do not allow outside food, so eating at a winery may not be an option but I’m sure there are a number of scenic overlooks in the valley that would be nice for a picnic. If you are stopping for a Moffett Vineyards tasting (and I really hope you do because you will not be disappointed with the wine or with meeting Trent), you may want to ask to eat lunch at a different location based on your preferences and expectations. Our third and final stop was Alexana Winery. The building and vineyards were absolutely beautiful and we were greeted with a glass of wine to enjoy as we looked around and made our way to a reserved table that was set up for us. Our tasting consultant was Sophia. She was incredibly knowledgeable, so personable, and it felt like we were sitting with a friend rather than an employee of the vineyard for the tasting. She walked us through our tasting and based on our likes brought in additional wines for us to taste. The tasting here would have been $50 per person but was waived based on our wine purchases. Like our other two experiences, we felt the tasting fee would have been well worth the cost had we not purchased multiple bottles of wine that afternoon. After our final stop, Camille brought us back to our hotel and dropped us off. The day was seamless and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Although all of our tasting fees were waived, we felt they would have been a reasonable amount for each experience if we had not purchased wine and we did give a cash gratuity directly to the tasting consultants for their amazing service. We felt that Camille and Wayne at A Great Oregon Wine Tour had provided exactly what we asked for on every account. When we visit the Willamette Valley area again, we will not hesitate to contact A Great Oregon Wine Tour for another amazing tour!

Ten Year Anniversary Trip - Trust me when I say Wayne and team are the Michael Jordans of wine tours in the valley. Having Wayne as our guide made our trip an unforgettable experience. Wayne was a wonderful host and managed to add two phenomenal wineries to our list at the last moment. It was our ten year anniversary and he made it very memorable for us. We will most certainly be back and be contacting A Great Oregon Wine Tour for another private tour! Thank you!!!!

Wine tasting in Oregon Willamette Valley - Wayne arranged for six winery visits/tastings over two different days. One included a food pairing at Soter Vineyards which was excellent. We also visited Knudsen, Bledsoe|McDaniel, Ayoub, Evesham Wood/Haden Fig, and Bethel Heights. The vehicles were fine, and Wayne (owner) was knowledgeable and entertaining. Would use again!

A Great In Depth Introduction to Oregon Wine - An amazing day guided by Wayne around some of the vineyards of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Knowledgeable, informal and entertaining (and doing all the driving) made for a relaxing, but educative day. New to this wine region, we learnt a lot and that he knew so much of the area and the individual wineries, their history, owners and production made it all the more special. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and do another visit with A Great Oregon Wine Tour!

Hands down The Queen of Oregon Wine Country! - Can't think of a better day than touring Hood River Wine Country with Camille-- she was incredible, entertaining and knew more about the wines than some of the folks at the wineries. We're already planning a return trip to the area next June and a day in wine country with Camille is at the top of our list. Thank you for sharing your day and expertise with us (and HBD Sweet!)!

Just Pick Wayne and Don't Worry About It - Booked a private tour for my wife and myself. Wayne made the day most memorable. If you are undecided as to which wine tour company or if you think you might want to do it yourself - just pick A Great Oregon Wine Tour and ask for Wayne. Let him do all the planning because he knows EVERYONE in the region. We visited 3 wineries and that made for a great day trip. Plus Wayne will take you to a nice stop or two to begin your day, as most wineries in the area don't open til 11am anyway. The box lunch was also fantastic and allowed us to keep moving to the next winery. We will do this trip again and ask Wayne to take us to all his favorite small wineries.

Fun casual educational wine tour - My daughter and I did a full day wine tour yesterday with Great Oregon wine tours. We were with Camille who has 20 plus years working in the Oregon wine industry and could answer any questions we had. As we drove around she told us all the backstories of the wineries and when we stopped at vineyards she took the time to explain the way they prune the grapes and why. She had immense wine knowledge and took us to three great wineries. We did 3 for the day and had plenty of time at each place to explore - nothing was rushed. At the second winery we had a great lunch that she had made sandwiches for. She adjusted the plan based on the weather for the day being a bit took cold/rainy for a picnic. She made us enjoying our day a priority. I would strongly recommend a Great Oregon wine tour if you want a casual fun wine tour where you will taste great wines but also leave understanding a lot more about the Williamette valley. We will be back.
