Fantastic Tour! - We saw SO many wonderful things! Monkeys, birds, crocodiles... Arturo was an amazing guide. He found fabulous birds and would get them in his scope and then take pictures for us. Same with the monkeys from the boat. He could actually call them to come visit the tourists on the boat. He was very informed and interesting.

Excellent wildlife adventure - This was absolutely the best trip I have been on in a while. I had done this river adventure before, but it was the first time with Arturo. His knowledge was incredible and I would definitely hire him as my guide again!

Very nice experience. A little out of the way, but I think it is worth it. - It was a very nice experience. We were a little late but they were very accommodating. We did have a private tour though, so we were only affecting ourselves by being late. The tour was 1 hr to 1.5 hrs on the water and then Arturo showed us a few interesting onshore spots where some birds were nesting. We had a rental we could drive around so I'm not sure if the onshore outing would apply to tour groups on buses. We saw various birds, monkeys, and crocodiles. Our guide was very excited about the wildlife and his English was very good. I think it is best to go earlier in the day than later. We went at 8 am. The animal activity dies down as it warms up during the day.

Picturesque walk - The ride depends on the tide, so times may vary. The rendezvous bridge, is 15/20 minutes from the boat. But it allows you to observe the wildlife (don’t hesitate to tell them before leaving) Once arrived, the tour is nice, but depends on the weather conditions. Some monkeys are not fierce, they ensure the show.

Take it or leave it boat tour. Take it if you like bird watching. - Eh. I didn't feel our one hour (advertised as 2-3 hr) boat ride was worth the $75 per person fee. Yes, it was neat to see a few monkeys, a couple crocs off in the distance, but, full disclaimer, I'm not into birds. Lots of iguanas to see too, just like at the hotel. Maybe it would have been helpful to have binoculars? Angel, our tour guide, was pleasant and new the names of all the wildlife. I felt he was more attentive to the boat driver though in conversation. The meal after the boat tour was delicious, especially the coffee. The drive to Ortega was way out in the back country. It was more exciting to see the sugar cane and cantaloupe fields in various stages of growth/harvest not to mention the cattle walking along on the roads. Doubt I would do this again.
