Amanohashidate, located in Miyazu Bay on the Sea of Japan, is celebrated as one of the ‘Three Views of Japan,’ alongside Matsushima in Mutsu and Miyajima in Aki. This sandbar extends approximately 3.6 kilometers, formed by coastal sedimentation, and is adorned with around 8,000 pine trees. The white sandy beaches on both sides create a distinctive natural landscape. Its shape resembles a bridge reaching towards the sky, which is why it is named ‘Amanohashidate.’ It is situated where the Asu Sea and Miyazu Bay of the Sea of Japan converge.
An observation deck on Mount Monju offers a panoramic view of Amanohashidate. The mountain features a sightseeing car and amusement facilities suitable for all ages.
