Next, the group will cross Gokurakubashi Bridge, pass through Aoyamon Gate, and stroll along the gingko tree-lined path to the fountain area. Shinsekai - After departing Osaka Castle Park, the group will take the JR Loop Line to Shinsekai, one of Osaka’s most unique and lively neighborhoods. Shitennoji - Following the exploration of the vibrant Shinsekai district, the group will walk through the Tennoji area to reach the historic Shitennoji Temple. Before entering, there will be a stop at a cozy teahouse for a brief break, where participants can enjoy Japanese tea and sweets in a tranquil setting.
Shitennoji, established by Prince Shotoku in 593, is one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples. Despite its central Osaka location, the temple offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Its serene, sacred atmosphere is steeped in centuries of history and quiet energy.
Inside the Golden Pavilion (Kondo), visitors will find statues of the Four Heavenly Kings, powerful guardian deities. As the group explores the grounds, they will hear the story of Prince Shotoku and experience the deep cultural and spiritual significance of this sacred site. It’s a tranquil and meaningful stop on the journey through Osaka.
