• Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street - Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street is a must-see in Osaka. This expansive shopping arcade, featuring cosmetics stores, apparel shops, and restaurants, stretches 600 meters. It has been a bustling retail hub since the mid-18th century when the renowned kimono shop Matsuya opened, later becoming the Daimaru Department Store. The development of Shinsaibashi-suji mirrors the growth and transformation of its host city, Osaka.

• Kuromon Market - Kuromon Market is renowned for its summer conger pike and winter Fugu. At least 10% of the seafood shops in Kuromon specialize in Fugu and Hamo. This vibrant, covered market stretches about 580 meters, with around 150 shops, always bustling with visitors. The market offers everything from fresh seafood, blowfish, and soft-shelled turtle specialty shops to restaurants, fruit and vegetable stalls, butchers, pickled goods, dried foods, Japanese sweets, and Western cakes.
• Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine - Osaka’s Sumiyoshi Taisha (住吉大社, “Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine”) is one of Japan’s oldest shrines. Established in the 3rd century before Buddhism’s introduction, it showcases a unique style of shrine architecture, known as Sumiyoshi-zukuri, uninfluenced by the Asian mainland. Only two other shrine architecture styles are considered purely Japanese: Shinmei-zukuri, seen at the Ise Shrines, and Taisha-zukuri, seen at Izumo Taisha.
• Shitennoji - Shitennoji (四天王寺, Shitennōji) is one of Japan’s oldest temples and the first ever built by the state. Founded in 593 by Prince Shotoku, who supported Buddhism’s introduction to Japan, the temple’s buildings have been reconstructed multiple times over the centuries to reflect the original 6th-century design.

The outer temple grounds are free to enter, but there is a fee for admission to the inner precinct, the Gokuraku-jodo Garden, and the treasure house. In the pebble-covered courtyard of the inner precinct stands a five-storied pagoda that can be entered and ascended, along with the Main Hall (Kondo), where Prince Shotoku is enshrined as a statue of Kannon.

• Umeda Sky Building - The Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル) is a stunning high-rise in Osaka’s Kita district, near Osaka and Umeda Stations. Also known as “New Umeda City,” the 173-meter-tall building consists of two towers connected by the “Floating Garden Observatory” on the 39th floor. The observatory offers breathtaking views of the city through its windows and from its open-air deck. The basement features a restaurant floor replicating a town from the early Showa Period, while offices occupy most other floors.
• Osaka Castle - Osaka Castle is undoubtedly one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks, and for good reason. This five-story castle is one of the country’s most visually stunning creations, with a history spanning nearly 450 years!
• The National Museum of Art, Osaka - The National Museum of Art, Osaka (NMAO) is an underground museum housing a significant art collection on Nakanoshima Island in central Osaka.
• Shinsekai - Shinsekai, the New World, features the Tsutenkaku, Osaka’s Eiffel Tower, kushikatsu, and Billiken, the God of wealth and money. Shinsekai is also home to Spa World, a vast bath complex with numerous pools on a European-themed floor and an Asian-themed floor (enjoyed naked and gender-separated).
• Keitaku-en Garden - Keitakuen Garden is a traditional Japanese landscape garden located within Tennoji Park in Osaka, Japan. Designed in the early 20th century, it features a central pond, meticulously arranged rocks, seasonal plants, and pathways that reflect classic Japanese aesthetics. The garden offers a tranquil escape from the city, with scenic views of nearby Osaka skyscrapers creating a unique blend of nature and urban life.
