Great tour - I really enjoyed this bus tour. It was very in depth they give you headphones support and it’s whatever language you speak. And they were very good about really going and talking about every place you can think of. I definitely think this would be very good to do if you’re just coming in. I was very excited. I found places that I had wanted to go and it really made it easy for me to locate it by taking this tour.

On and Off Bus Experience - The 'off and on' bus experience is a good way to get an overview of cities and decide which sites to go back and visit for more information. So I go on the whole route once (90 minutes average) and then decide which ones to go back to visit for the duration of the pass (48 hours or ?) I have done research in advance on the major sites so choose accordingly. I will add that I ended up taking both bus companies who offered trips of this nature and the Hop On and Off bus was better, in my experience, than City Sightseeing On and Off. The routes were similar for the most part but sound system was better on the former.

Not clear which provider - Already booked more city tours with Viator. What strikes me is that in cities there are always more providers of siteseeing tours. Viator does not specify which provider the tickets are valid for. That causes a lot of annoyance.

The Germans are important - We took it from Oslo boat and asked if it was possible to drive the whole trip and then ended up at Oslo boat again and they said that we could well. We looked at the short we got that it was stop number 10 since I'm once troubled so we wanted to get ready so we could get off in time. On one trip we were past the boat from Germany 3 times and put people off and on. We chose to have the guide in English but unfortunately my husband could only hear half because the sound was so bad. When we reached stop no. 9, we made ourselves ready and called too so we could get off at the Oslo boat but he just drove past so we had to scream to get off and came off in the middle of the road very hard for me to get rid of my rollator so I fought really to get off and no help we got people just looked strangely at me. I have subsequently tried to write an email to them but have received no reply or an apology. But if you are Danish and come with the Oslo boat then remember that on this trip the Germans are important very bad style. The price was expensive enough 700 kr for me and my husband

Absolutely terrible bus experience, stay away! - The 2.6 stars rating for this hop on hop off bus is extremely accurate, should not be ignored and could definitely be even lower. Finding the bus stops was an absolute nightmare and once we did find the one the lady driving the bus waved at us and rudely continued driving on, even though we were stood at a bus stop shown on the map and clearly waved to get on it. We had been waiting for about an hour in the full sun, in the middle of nowhere for about an hour. Then we had to trek miles to another bus stop and ended up waiting another hour for the bus to turn up. So in the end we spent the majority of the day waiting for those busses to turn up and would have been better off forgetting we had booked it and not bothering with them. The time between the busses getting to each stop takes ages and is pathetic, the signs where the bus will stop are not clear at all and it should be made much clearer if the bus will not stop at a place clearly shown on the map. Also, they stop running at 4 which is far too early and unhelpful. We should have definitely got on the other brand of hop on hop off bus in the city as I imagine we would have had a much better experience because this one couldn’t have been much worse. Stay well away!

Find the other company instead. - Better to go with the company competitors, paying $40, and we ended up getting off at the first stop available because the driver didn’t play the audio, we went a couple to ask her to activate it and it was only a few blocks away. Better to take a line bus for a few euros and do it x your bill to spend money on a bad service. The cleanliness of the vehicle can be improved. A waste of money and time. We were doing all the Hopp on x Scandinavia, this was the only bad one.

Lousy experience and very little city/country knowledge - Hardly any commentary, long waits in between busses, commentary says it’s on one channel but was on different channel, confusing signage on busses between this company and other hop on hop off bus. Take other company

Horrible service-don’t recommend - The buses did not have working speakers and personal channels to listen to the sites on the Oslo bus. When we tried to scan and use our own phones-it kept kicking us out. We waited at one stop for 40 minutes while multiple other hop on hop off buses arrived and left, but not the one Viator provided. We ended up paying for a taxi as we were afraid we would miss the embarking of our cruise. Our sons were on one that hit a car and they were delayed significantly -not allowing them time to see Oslo. I honestly would rate them zero stars if I could. Highly disappointing and expensive.

The tour that wasn’t. - This was the tour that never happened. After being directed (twice) to the wrong stop location, we finally boarded a bus. Rode one stop. Then sat for almost half an hour at the next stop. Finally the bus started moving, only to stall out and die at the turn on the next block. We sat there, with no instructions or information, for quite a while before most people simply got off the bus. By then, buses were backed up along the narrow street and the staff was running around trying to figure out what to do. 3 hours later, the stalled bus was still there and none of the other busses were running.. I’ve requested a refund.
