Excellent tour - The tour was lovely. We stopped with an appropriate frequency to make it to Milford Sound. The cruise around the sound was indescribably beautiful. The service was great and food was delicious. Ash was an entertaining driver.

First class views and comfort - We took the Milford Sound Business Class with a cruise! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Travel in absolute luxury, small-group, and comfort. With a pick-up from your hotel to picture-perfect rest-stops, enjoy inspirational views in style! The cruise was wonderful, fine-dining New Zealand local farm-to-table foods. We got up-close views throughout both the bus and cruise. Everything was pleasant and clean. It’s a long ride from Queenstown but it is SO worth it. There are a few options for returning to include helicopter, plane, and bus. The bus ride back is a bit long, but it is manageable. Ask for Stuart, who was an excellent tour-guide, deserving 10 stars. Offered incredible facts, stories throughout the tour. Made just the right amount of stops for picturesque sights. Additionally, pointed out wild life, stopped at the national park (also a UNESCO site), and spoke on history. Good playlist as well which really made the long drive go by. A safe driver and extremely knowledgeable and friendly to all. Appreciated the true luxury, world-class tour experience.

Wonderful Trip - Highly Recommended - Wonderful experience which I would highly recommend. The guide for the day, Mairi, was skilled at looking after all the guests, ensuring everyone was comfortable and she was very knowledgeable giving us lots of interesting information (as well as some light hearted chat and jokes :-) ) along the way. There were plenty of comfort stops which was important for me on such a long day of travel. The views were stunning, I really cannot put this into words and would highly recommend going for yourself to experience the awe of this incredible place! On the return trip Mairi spotted a Kea and stopped to let us off to take photographs and she even checked the bird's tag, looked it up and told us what his name is - such a lovely touch. I returned safely to Queenstown having had an amazing experience where I felt very well looked after and a day I will never forget.

Business class Milford Sound trip - Seamless pick up at hotel. Coach was comfy and the ginger shots were a great morning starter. Our driver, Chase, was fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of stops for photos and breaks on the trip down to Milford Sound. Morning tea was lovely, freshly baked scones and orange cake, with barista coffees waiting for us. The boat cruise was great. Delicious champagne as we boarded and 5 (small) courses for lunch were lovely. The skipper stopped at waterfalls and for seal spotting during the 2 hour journey. The small details really made this a great experience. Highly recommend.

Cheers to Altitude on their Business Class tour to Milford Sound! - AMAZING experience: so happy we opted to upgrade to Altitude’s new Business Class tour with a scenic fly-back. Worth EVERY penny. Beautiful new coach with room to stretch out. Chase was a great host and driver: thought I’d likely nap but didn’t want to miss a moment! You feel the “business-class” of it all through the day… met with a glass of sparkling wine and smiling faces on the beautiful boat. Food was artsy and delicious but preferred spending our time up-top in the fresh air with the stunning views. We were so lucky with the weather!! Flight back with James also heart-stoppingly beautiful - felt like we could touch the mountain-tops ! Shout-out to Ivy on the other end of the phone for her calm/pleasant/helpful “Altitude” attitude! What a perfect day!

Very enjoyful long day activity! - We were worrying about the long distance drive when we booked the trip. However, our driver guide Gina did give us a grateful and unexpected experience on the road. Her deep knowledge and explanation on NZ gave us a chance to learn more about NZ while there is some language barrier. The long distance trip was cut into several pieces so that my daughter commented that she was even unaware of 6 hrs passing by while she arrived on the boat. Thanks Gina for her professional guide and safe drive. The experience on the boat was also great. It’s amazing while we were approaching the waterfall. And we were lucky to see many waterfalls because of the raining day. One only minor suggestion is about the meal. It’s very western style and not that tasty for my Asian stomachs. But, the ice cream dessert was great! Will recommend my friends experience this one day activity if they don’t want to handle the long drive to Milford Sound.

Milford Sound, a trip of a lifetime!!! - What a fantastic way to see an iconic site! Our guide Carol was perfect, sharing her vast knowledge of New Zealand and injecting lots of humour and great music along the way. The included lunch was delicious and plentiful. The long drive was broken up with plenty of breaks for washrooms and photo opportunities. The vehicle was clean and comfortable and we appreciated Carol’s mastery of navigating the challenging terrain. An article left behind on the tour bus was returned to our hotel by Carol after her work day…this was definitely going above and beyond! We would highly recommend this tour!

A truly 5 star experience - Fantastic experience, I was not really looking forward to the long drive in a bus but Altitude had made every effort to make this as comfortable as possible even providing pillows and blankets if you wanted to nap. However the driving was interesting and Andy our guide/driver had lots of interesting facts and stories and also a very good playlist. There was a ginger & Manuka honey shot and plenty of water on the bus but we also had a coffee/morning tea stop and several opportunities to get off the bus on the way. The cruise on Milford sound was superb. There was plenty of space on the boat both indoors and on the deck and personally I thought the food and drink was great. I wouldn’t have wanted a larger meal as my main purpose was after all to look at the scenery. We took the option to fly back which was absolutely incredible. I’m not saying anything else because it’s always good to amazed. Just remember to ask for sunshine! 😎

Great tour. Some issues with accommodating dietary restrictions - I quite enjoyed this tour and think it was worth paying for the business class experience. I went on Jan 21. I took the bus/van there and flew back via the fixed wing aircraft. Positives: 1. Tour guide/driver was excellent; really nice and informative. Don’t quite remember his name. 2. The bus/van was in great condition. Pillows and blankets were provided. 3. We stopped a few times to take pictures during the bus ride, which I appreciated. 4. The vessel appeared brand new and food/service were great. Negatives: 1. I requested milk free/dairy free food. On the vessel they did a good job of accommodating this across all courses. However, for breakfast they literally provided two small pieces of some sort bread/pastry. I thought this was ridiculous. People without dietary restrictions had access to a myriad of options. Given the price of the tour and the fact that after booking I asked multiple times whether they could accommodate my restrictions and they indicated they could, I’m unhappy with what was provided, and will be taking it up with Real NZ.

Save your money - If you've seen mountains before, but still want to see the Milford Sound scenery, save your money and go for one of the much less expensive tours. Food on the boat was meh and not much more than an appetizer at best. The only real benefit is a smaller van.
