Adventurous, diverse and beautiful journey - The 3 days were beautiful our guide had told us a lot of sidefacts on the way to shorten the long drive. In addition, we made some stops on the way to take photos, buy souvenirs or to take an "active photo";) The highlight was of course the safari, where we could observe 4 of the Big Five and the hugging of the elephants.

It’s a must!! - Amazing experience! I went as a solo traveler and I had the best time! Our guide Neville was an absolute star! Knowledgeable, patient with all of us and very funny! All the activities were well organised and timed. I enjoyed every single one! We were all very well looked after. I would highly recommend it if you ever visit Cape Town.

Treat yourself to this best ever and lifetime experience! - We had a terrific tour, the best experience possible! The organization, transport and accommodations were simply excellent and all activities so interesting and enjoyable 😀 But it was our tour guide Uriel who made it into a truly memorable experience, given his openness, great knowledge, care and the fun he brought into everything. Thank you so much for this lifetime experience!

Outstanding tour! - My three day garden tour with Ulrich Damon was outstanding. He took us to see some unique sites and enjoyable experiences. It was nice that he prioritized local business ownersa and shops. He was kind to the group and an excellent leader and facilitator. He also helped us stay on time and made the best use of time by calling ahead for meal orders for example. Great experience!

🚨 WARNING: Unsafe Experience with Hot2Spot Driver (TK) — July 18–20, 2025 🚨 - I’m writing this review on Monday, July 21st, 2025, just one day after completing a 3-day "Garden Route" tour with Hot2Spot alongside a group of seven close friends. While the route itself is beautiful, I feel a moral obligation to WARN other travelers and call urgent attention to the conduct of our driver, TK. What we experienced was unacceptable, unprofessional, and unsafe. Day 1 – Friday, July 18th: Hostile Welcome Our group faced a plumbing emergency at our accommodation that caused a 20-minute delay for pickup. When I tried to explain the situation, TK met me with an aggressively hostile attitude. I asked to sit in the front seat due to car sickness — a request he initially agreed to — but he spoke to me very rudely when I tried to roll down the window. Once the rest of my group arrived, TK publicly scolded us again and told us he'd now have to “drive super fast” and “risk fines” because of our delay — making us feel both unsafe and unwelcome right from the start. His tone was so aggressive that we stayed silent out of fear of escalating things further. The first two hours of the ride were filled with tension and an air of intimidation. Day 2 – Saturday, July 19th: Escalation The following day, a delay in our zipline activity (outside of our control) caused another minor delay in returning to the van. TK began yelling at all of us, asking why we weren't "running toward the van." This time, we had had enough and responded to his tone with equal frustration. TK later half-apologized, saying he didn’t “want to be this monster,” yet continued to blame us and remained visibly angry. That evening over dinner, we reflected on how the tour had been tainted by fear and stress, yet we were determined to make the most of our final day. Day 3 – Sunday, July 20th: Verbal Abuse & Threats Things reached a disturbing and dangerous peak on Sunday. After the safari, TK picked up the rest of our group from their skydiving activity. He suddenly accused us of "bullying another passenger," a false claim that felt clearly fabricated to discredit us — likely because he sensed we might file a complaint. At that moment, I spoke up and said, “You don’t have the right to talk to us like this.” His reaction was terrifying. He began yelling and threatening me, repeating phrases like: “You better listen to me!” “I know your character!” “Try me and you’ll see!” “You’ll have to listen or f*** around and find out!” And most shockingly, he threatened to physically remove me from the van and leave me behind in the middle of nowhere. Final Thoughts I have never in my life felt so unsafe, humiliated, and shaken during a tour. This experience was not simply a matter of poor service — it bordered on emotional abuse and physical intimidation. Even as I write this, I am in disbelief that a company like Hot2Spot would allow someone like TK to represent them. Several questions come to mind: How long has TK worked for this company? Has he undergone any psychological evaluation? Does he hold proper tour guide certification or licensing? Is Hot2Spot doing anything to monitor the behavior of their drivers? Another guide from a different agency we met at a restaurant advised us to call Hot2Spot directly. But at the time, we were afraid that if TK found out, he might retaliate before dropping us off safely. Request to Hot2Spot I strongly urge Hot2Spot to: -Install dash cameras in all vehicles -Reevaluate driver screening and training processes -Take customer safety and mental well-being seriously -Tour companies have a duty of care when transporting people to unfamiliar places. In this case, that duty was completely broken. -If you're a traveler considering this tour, think twice. And if you're part of Hot2Spot management: please DO SOMETHING before someone gets hurt. Please note that the rest of the trip — the moments when we weren’t with TK — were truly beautiful. The other people we met along the way were amazing, especially during the safari, at the caves, and with the elephants.
