Do you consider yourself an adrenaline junkie? Test your mettle with the ultimate experience that will send your heart racing - cage diving with different species of sharks in Gansbaai. This all-day shark dive adventure transports you into the open sea off the Gansbaai coast and immerses you in the sharks’ environment. Prior to your plunge, an onboard marine biologist and knowledgeable guides will educate you about the sharks. Complimentary breakfast, snacks, as well as pick-up and drop-off service from your Cape Town hotel are part of the package.
- It is recommended that you wear a swim-suit underneath your clothes.
- Please note: Sharks are wild animals and their presence cannot be guaranteed. Every experience that guests have is educational from start to finish. The local supplier works with wild life and nature and sightings are never guaranteed. If a shark has been sighted from the boat, they will consider that a successful trip. If there is no shark activity while on a shark cage diving tour with the supplier, then a voucher will be offered. This voucher is not transferable – your name and passport number will be recorded on the voucher. The transfer fee is non-refundable.
- This tour typically departs at 9am, however if the weather conditions are bad in the morning, the tour will leave in the afternoon; this will be confirmed by the tour operator close to the day of your tour.
- Please note that the Conservation Fee is compulsory.

A trip that won’t be forgotten! - Absolutely worth it. We were hesitant to book this trip due to the decline in great white sightings, but we ended up being thrilled by the incredible views of bronze whaler sharks and rays. What really stood out was the company’s genuine passion and dedication to shark and wildlife conservation. The crew were friendly, entertaining and highly organised, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Our driver was punctual and the journey was safe and comfortable. An unforgettable experience, thank you!

Awesome adventure! - The cage dive was exciting! The bronze whaler sharks came right at you - up close! We did not see any great white sharks, but there were plenty of bronze whaler sharks!

Bucket list ☑️ - We were blessed with perfect weather, calms seas, and plenty of sharks! Also saw a sting ray, some dolphins, and African penguins. The staff was knowledge and attentive. The pick ups were timely. Would definitely recommend!

So proffesional and a great day out 🙏 - An early pick up, but collection from your accomodation so no fuss.
Our driver (I am so sorry I did not catch his name was superb!)
Arrival with light breakfast in a lovely set up - The Great White House, and a very informative briefing.
The team running the show from start to finish make you feel very comfortable and safe, and they are very very organised with everything from timings, to equipment for you on the boat. So lovely their focus is on conservation so not a quick buck but sustainable environment with particular focus on the African Penguins and Sharks
We saw so much today - Dolphins in abundance, cape fur seals, a sun fish, bronze waler sharks , African Penguins. sting Ray.
Apprehensive prior to the trip ref the shark cage - but absolutely no need whatsoever to be worried all incredibley controlled and safe.
Back post trip for a de-brief and a well coordinated trip home.
A big thanks to Susie (of Norwegian heritage) who made the day with her enthusiasm
I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone !!!

Fun full day experience! - Great experience!
I went with my 16 year old son, he really enjoyed it!
On the way to the cage diving place we saw whales, dolphins, and on the diving place we saw a seal and a sting ray.
On arrival, we were inmediately visited by copper sharks.
The crew was very helpful, and the two marine biologist very knowledgable.
If anyone does not want to dive, he/she can just watch the sharks from the deck
No divig experience needed!

Great Experience, But Not for Seeing Great White Sharks - It’s a really nice experience, and I truly enjoyed it. I also liked that, besides having a good time, you’re contributing to shark research in the area—that part meant a lot to me.
However, personally, I booked this experience because both my travel agency and the website mentioned that it was to see great white sharks. As they explain once you arrive, since around 2017 two orcas have been preying on them, so it’s now very, very unlikely to see a great white. That was disappointing for me.
If you’re looking for an experience to see other types of sharks or marine life, it’s definitely fun and worthwhile. But if your main goal is specifically to see a great white shark, I wouldn’t recommend it.
That said, the crew is very friendly, and you’ll still have a great time overall.

Overall Review - Just a heads up this is approx 2 1/2 he drive from Cape Town to the costed of the Shark experience. Our driver was great. Answered any questions we had. We were provided a pasta lunch before heading out. It was choppy on the water. So make sure to bring Gravel or patches for motion sickness. There was a bunch of not so happy passengers on our boat. They did provide chunks of ginger which did help. While in the water we did have approx 7-9 Bronze Whaler sharks. They wpuld just swim by no bashing of the cages so was great to see them up close. We were in the cage for approx 20 mins per group (8 people) and on the water for about 2 1/2 hrs. The site is approx 15 mins from the dock. Overall it was a great experience.

Better view from boat than water! - The experience was nice overall, but the sharks were actually better seen from the boat than underwater. Visibility in the cage made it harder to fully enjoy the experience. In hindsight, I would have preferred a boat-only viewing experience.
