Bioluminescent Amazement - The tour was not at all like the pictures described, however, we were not disappointed! Our expectations were different because we didn't know exactly what we were getting, so ask more questions if you want more answers!!! Our tour included a trip from the hotel to the peer in a nice van which took us about an hour. From there we got in a somewhat run down longboat (but they all seem somewhat determined from weather and use) the initial shock was alarming but we hopped in and our crew was super welcoming and friendly. Offered us snacks and water/soda. (If you want alcohol you better ask if you can bring it). Next we were taken to several islands and our boat crew took our pictures for us, helped us explore, showed us so many cool things i can not tell you how awesome it was, our minds were blown. Then he airdropped the pictures to me without asking for money or extra nothing, I was so shocked, it was fantastic!!! We were taken to a private little beach they set up a picnic area for us, dropped us off with some take out containers of local food and let us eat and enjoy the beach for as long as we wanted, we could relax, swim, whatever and thry stayed just off shore and let us have the space all to ourselves. Out of this world amazing!!!! Our last stop was the bioluminescent caves, just as dark was setting in, we headed to a floating dock, and used the creapy bathroom (but it was a toilet) and were helped onto some rubber canoes. Our guides took use into caves that were completely pitch black and that is were the magic happened!!!! No words can explain how perfect they make the bioluminescent experience, it is so beyond anything you will ever have happen. Even if you hate everything else, you can not miss that part. It is not like the picture, at least it wasn't for us. We were not watching waves on a beach. We were in a dark cave, and are hands in the water made the ripples glow, the boat oars were sparkling, the waters splashes were glowing. It was like something out of Fantasia!!! I have no idea why there were not a million people in those caves, but there were just the 4 people in my group and our 2 guides, it was unreal! After that, we paddles around the island and then back to the barge. We went back on the long boat to the peer, back to our taxi and back to our hotel. The whole trip was about 8 hours. Our best trip of the whole trip, and we spent way more money doing the big fancy tours elsewhere. If I knew what our specific guides names were I would drop them, because they were great. Perfect tour. But again, it was like what is described here, so ask more questions so you are not shocked. I wasn't upset because of how great it turned out, but it wasn't quite how it was advertised!!!
