Because it teaches how to prevent and manage issues in the water, boosting confidence in diving skills and the ability to assist others when necessary. Throughout the course, participants enhance their buddy skills by practicing problem-solving techniques until they become instinctive. Additionally, the course is enjoyable – it maintains a serious tone but includes plenty of laughter amidst the focused learning.
Emergency First Response training is designed to build confidence in lay rescuers and increase their readiness to act during a medical emergency. Participants learn straightforward steps for emergency care and practice these skills in a stress-free learning environment. The courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos, and quick reference cards to facilitate learning and enable immediate engagement.
EFR courses fulfill the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level certifications. Most PADI Instructors are also qualified as Emergency First Response Instructors.
