The Certosa di San Lorenzo is an expansive monastery, featuring 320 rooms and halls. It has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

The tour begins at the entrance hall with the guesthouse cloister, then proceeds into the church to admire the Neapolitan baroque style decorations, including golden stucco, majolica floors, and marble altars. Visitors will be amazed by the Fathers’ wooden choir with 16th-century wooden inlays, and will then explore the hall of the bells, the Chapter, and the Treasury. The tour continues with a view of the grand refectory hall, showcasing the fresco of the Cana wedding by Francesco d’Elia, and the impressive kitchen with a large central hood adorned with majolica tiles.

The tour proceeds to the cloister of the prior and the large central cloister, concluding at the monumental elliptical staircase.
