Long walk to the canyon and back - Make sure you get the proper tour. We thought we signed up for a ride to the canyon, but we found out later we had to hike to the canyon and back in loose sand uphill on the return trip. The canyon was great and our guide was great, but there was some kind of mixup at the sign-up. It was advertised as hike the canyon. I thought it meant a hike through the canyon. I did not know it meant a hike to the canyon.😬. We are both in our late 70s and was a little bit more than we expected. It was about a 40 minute walk to the canyon and another 40 minute walk back which was more strenuous because it was mostly uphill .

Mediocre agency - The Antelope canyons are both quite beautiful. Easy hike, amazing views. The agency had a hut, not great service, they started late so missed our entry, had to wait another 20 min .

We were promised a hiking... - We were promised a hiking tour at 2:00 pm and received both text and email stating that we should check in at the location at 12:50. The location given was incorrect and once we got there, we were told the tour starts at 2:30 and it is a driving tour not a hiking tour.

Guide did not talk - The canyon itself is beautiful. It surprised us that after we booked and paid for the whole tour, there were still more charges when we checked in at the site. It is new Navajo nation entrance fee $15 per person. Also our guide did not talk while the guides in the front group and the group behind us introducing all kinds of information non stop. We wish we had guide like that.

Crowded and unorganized. Wish I tried lower canyon instead - To be honest, they were unorganized. I almost wasn’t able to go because the group left without me even though I was there in line on time. Maybe I should have arrived much earlier. I was in line 10 minutes before check in. The time was unclear and my ticket purchase was unclear. I wasn’t aware I was going to have to hike to get there. Maybe that was trip advisors fault. They take in large groups back to back and it’s mostly people taking photos, so you’re waiting in line the entire time as you go through the canyon. The canyons are beautiful, but it’s crowded and in my opinion not worth the money. If I could do it over I would have tried the lower canyon.
