Comprehensive and Willing to Customize - Blue Lanka was recommended to us for a 16 day tour of Sri Lanka. They assigned us a private driver/guide, Chanaka Cooray, and booked all our small boutique hotels based on our request and customized our trip. Chanaka handled all the details of obtaining tickets which took a lot of the administrative burden off of us. The food was fantastic. We were a bit last-minute in booking our tour and Blue Lanka accommodated us well. Our tour included historical sites in Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Galle. Our tour also included temples, cooking classes, safaris, shopping, Ayurvedic experiences, elephant sanctuary (our personal highlight of the trip), cultural dance performance, hiking, tea and cinnamon plantation tours and a train ride to Ella. On a 16 day journey, the assigned guide can really influence the trip. Thankfully our guide, Chanaka, was cheerful, loves his country and was earnest to be a good ambassador. He picked us up in the middle of the night upon our arrival and stuck with us throughout the 16 day journey. He was timely, everyday and shared experiences that he lives. He did not shy away from our questions about culture, economics and politics. He was receptive to our interests and when we got a bit over-saturated with temple visits, he pivoted well. Occasionally, we had to be direct in asking Chanaka to accompany us in touring different things and we learned that he has to read his clients, many of whom like more privacy as they tour a site. My friend and I wanted Chanaka to help us interpret what we were seeing and he is very knowledgeable--so my only suggestion is that he ask his clientele how much interpretation they want. A couple other thoughts for the Sri Lankan tourist and suggestions for Blue Lanka: this country isn't as sophisticated in tourism as some. We wish Blue Lanka would have informed us before departure on a few aspects: ° Appropriate clothing: Blue Lanka should recommend bathing clothes and sandals. We didn't know until the day before our elephant sanctuary visit that we needed "bathing" clothes. Thankfully our guide mentioned it the night before but we would've brought particular clothing had we known. ° My friend brought touring shoes, but with all the rain and temple tours, sandals should be recommended. Putting socks and shoes back on after touring wet and gravely temples is a pain. ° Binoculars and flora/fauna guidebooks should be provided. At least they should recommend people bring their own binoculars if they aren't going to provide them. I was surprised the safari didn't include binoculars, nor were there any flora or fauna guidebooks and we had no one in the back of the safari jeep to interpret and ID, rather, the driver would stop and point and then we'd have a loud exchange to know where we should look and what we were seeing. Not ideal. Thankfully, after 6 hours of safari, the staff at Yala's Tribe lodge loaned us a bird book that helped us accurately ID over 50 species of birds that greatly enhanced the 10 hours of safari experience.

Fabulous trip to Sri Lanka - highly recommend Blue Lanka for their 5-star+ service. - We have just returned from a 12 day tour with Blue Lanka travelling around Sri Lanka. The service offered by BlueLanka and our guide Chathura Liyanage (Liya) was superb. If there was an option for a 5Star++ review the company certainly would deserve it in our opinion. Throughout the whole process from the planning stage, the staff at Blue Lanka (Reshani & Himaya) were on hand to answer any query, and did so very quickly, with detailed answers to any questions. During the trip itself Reshani regularly touched base to check that everything was running smoothly; when my husband had a minor fall, the company immediately offered to pay for a doctor to check on him (fortunately this wasn’t needed), but we felt very reassured that Blue Lanka were there to provide any support. We were also very happy with the hotels chosen, and the itinerary was well planned, so we didn’t feel rushed, and also weren’t travelling more than 3 hours a day to get from one location to the next. We were also extremely fortunate in having Liya as a guide. He is a licensed Tour Guide, so was able to be both driver and tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and very patiently answered our many questions on the history and life in Sri Lanka - we certainly learned a lot from him during our stay. He was also very personable and friendly, and we really enjoyed spending 12 days exploring the country with him. We would highly recommend him as a guide. We don’t normally write extensive reviews on Trip Advisor, but given the first rate service offered by Blue Lanka, we have made an exception - our only regret is that they don’t offer tours to more countries! Great job all round, and we would highly recommend them to anyone considering a trip to Sri Lanka.

An incredible Experience ! - We booked an 8- day private tour with Blue Lanka Tours. I was travelling with my mom, my dad, and my sister. Every day was wonderful, with a professional, engaging guides, superbly executed itineraries tailored to our personal preference. Each hotel we stayed at was accommodating, clean, comfortable with excellent services, especially at Aliya Resort & Spa in Sigiriya and The Grand Serendib in Kandy. Overall trip from Negombo, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwaraeliya, Yala, Galle, and Columbo, was very well organized and our guide, Prakash Keerthy, was professional, kind, patient, flexible and really went the extra mile to make sure that everything was perfect. Prakash was able to share his passion and knowledge of his country and its tradition making the experience even more enjoyable. He is also very attentive to details and what is important to his travelers ! After completing the trip, I discovered that Sri Lanka is such a beautiful destination with very kind people and enjoyed every single minute of it. Special Thanks to Nimesha & Himaya our agents for a prompt respond and help coordinating the trip. I would love to visit Sri Lanka again in the future and will not hesitate to book Blue Lanka Tours with my favorite tour guide, Prakash !

Solo in Sri Lanka - As a single traveler and my first time doing an offcial tour I was skeptical but just did not want to deal with planning my entire trip solo after a hectic Christmas holiday. I decided to use Blue Lanka after extensive online research for the best tour companies. They were very accommodating up front to change places to visit, hotels etc to match my budget. I arrived exhausted after flying from the states and was greeted with flowers by Chanukah and then had a great tour for 12 days. Loved all hotels except one and that was more about the location and the food otherwise got to stay in some great little places with great views. It was so nice to have a personal driver. Chanukah was very helpful, very knowledgeable about the local areas and flexible to changes. He even went above and beyond to make me a nail appointment. 😀 I think if I would change anything it would be to spend more time around Ella, Yala and beaches with better scuba diving opportunities. It ended with Chanukah giving me a treasured parting gift to remember our trip, so thoughtful. 💝

EXCELLENT AND LEARNED ABOUT NATURE , CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE EXCELLENT SERVICE PROVIDED BY HOTELS AND TOUR GUIDES - My wife ( Jennifer ) and I ( Ethelred ) cherish the 8 days organised by Blue Lanka Tours. Visited many sites eg Kandy, Elephant Journey, Royal Botanic Gardens etc. Our personal tour guide Mr Chanuka Kavinda was God's gift to us. He was competent, compassionate, humble, respectful and took care of us day and night as parents even when he was exhausted. Never complained and looked after our welfare. We can vouch that he is a great asset to the company. At the end of the day we treasure the core-values manifested by Chanuka and Blue Lanka Tours.

Highly recommended tour company - We have just completed a 11 day private tour with our guide Pathum. He was good company and organised everything so all we had to do was relax and enjoy the sights. Everything went smoothly from being picked up from Colombo airport to the end. He even took us (twice) to opticians to mend broken glasses! I booked the tour on line from UK with Nemesha who was very efficient and accommodated changes I wanted to make to the tour she suggested. All the hotels were good and we had excellent rooms, many with views which were an added bonus. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with many interesting sights and experiences.

Spectacular! - We started early in the morning, watching the sunrise inside the Yala national park was amazing! We ended up spotting almost all the animals that live in the park, of course the leopard was not the exeption. Normally there are tours going at different times of the day but, our guide Hemantha, best guide ever, recommended us to go early in the morning which was the key to have a successful safari.

Best tour agency for Sri Lanka - My amazing journey with Blue Lanka Tours was amazing, and I just want to say a big thank you. From the moment I was picked up in Colombo until I was dropped off after exploring three stunning jungles, everything was perfectly organized. Thanks to their excellent planning, I got to visit Horton Plains, Yala National Park, and Kumana National Park all in one go which made my photography work much easier. Thank you for arranging the best places to stay and the best safari teams everywhere and especially want to thank Mr. Dinesh, the director of Blue Lanka Tours, and Amesha, the coordinator, for their outstanding organization and support. A special shout-out to Danushka and Kelum from Blue Lanka Tours, who were with me throughout the entire tour and made sure I felt at home. I came to this beautiful country as a stranger and left with a sense of family. Thank you!
