No transparency around additional costs for guides. Driver does not speak English. - The main problem is that when booking there was ambiguous and unclear information about the guides for the Palenque ruins. We were very surprised (as were the other people in our van) that the guide requested $400Mxn pesos each for the guide. This was a very steep price. It was then negotiated to $100Mxn pesos when we all had expected this to be included. There were no exclusions noted on the site. If there is a cost for a guide it should be clearly stated so people know what to expect. The driver Kimchan was very nice, but could not speak any useable English. All instructions were only in Spanish. The sites themselves were glorious.
