Palermo, Monreale, Cammarata
Duomo di Monreale - An early morning departure to Palermo reveals a unique blend of cultures, making it one of Europe’s most intriguing cities. The first stop is the Monreale Cathedral and its cloister, a significant medieval sacred building. Known as “the most beautiful house of God in the world,” it boasts 6,240 square meters of golden mosaics, the largest iconographic Bible globally. The basilica’s architecture is a Norman-Sicilian masterpiece, with mosaics depicting sacred history adorning every corner. The magnificent cloister offers such grace that visitors may wish to linger indefinitely.

The Royal Palace, also known as the Norman Palace, houses the Palatine Chapel, built for Roger II’s coronation as the first king of the Sicilian Empire. The gold mosaics, star-decorated beams, and stalactites are awe-inspiring, and the tour guide’s commentary enhances the experience. Highlights include the Room of the Winds and the Room of Roger II, home to the world’s oldest parliament.

Palermo - An orientation tour of Sicily’s capital provides an overview of the city’s most significant landmarks, such as Piazza Politeama with its splendid theater, Italy’s largest opera theater building, Theatro Massimo, the renowned shopping street Via Libertà, and Palermo’s tourist port before departing the capital.
