Great tour, super fun and... - Great tour, super fun and informative. Was worried it might be a lot of walking for my girls aged 10 and 12, but that was not at all an issue. Our guide set a leisurely pace stopping to point out non-food related points of interest which also helped put some time between eating. All of the food stops on the tour were great and I definitely learned a lot. Would recommend taking the tour early in your stay in Palermo if you can as it will give you great insight into what to look for from other quality street food establishments during your stay.

More than a food tour - We took this tour in Palermo in June 2025. First, you have to level your expectations as to the purpose of this tour. Really this tour is to provide some idea as to the diversity and history of the food in Palermo. If you are like me (from the west) you might find some of the food, not that exciting, but there is no mistake the food is authenticly Palermo. This is not a michelin star food tasting of Palermo. The food choices track some of the traditional foods of the diverse ethnic groups that influence the city. The food will tell a story of the struggles of certain ethnic groups and/or the origins of more modern day food that may have origonated from basic offerings. With that being said, keep in mind, there are alternatives if a food option does not suit you. You are not held hostage to eat something you might not like or does not suit your diet. Your guide is prepared with alternatives. My expectation going into a "Food tour" was on the food, rather what I got was a deeper appreciation for the history of Palermo and origons of the food. Seeing a mural of a man painted on a wall on a less promentant street would not have had any signficance to me. Stickers on venders shops which presumably meant something, however, without the tour, I would have just walked by. This was all made possible by our guide Annalisa. She is a true ambassador of Palermo. She understands the history of the city and will provide information you will find interesting. Trust me, you will walk through Palermo looking at food and life in Palermo differently. Annalisa connects the food to the history of Palermo. When speaking of my trip to Palermo, much of what I speak about is related to the information provided about the history of Palermo rather than the food. Word of warning, do not eat before this tour. You will be stuffed.

A Pleasant Afternoon - Carlo was an excellent host. The group was friendly composed mainly of cruise ship passengers. Classic street food was plentiful. It was a hot day so we were also kept well-hydrated. Tried everything. Good fun.

Great tour and good value for money - We learned lots about both Sicily and Sicilian food. The tour took around 4 hours and was great value for money. Annalisa was incredibly enthusiastic and proud of her home and very keen to share information about Sicily; its history and food. The only thing that prevented us scoring a 5 is that the evening was incredibly hot and humid so an earlier first food/ drink stop would have been appreciated. Thanks Annalisa!
