• Plaza Tomas Herrera - This is the starting and ending point for the tour. The square features a bronze equestrian statue honoring a Panamanian military hero who fought in the independence wars of South American nations against the Spanish Empire, as part of Simon Bolivar’s forces. Iconic buildings like Casa Casco and the American Trade Hotel are nearby. From there, the tour will proceed to the San Jose Mangroves to observe some birds.
• El Arco Chato - The tour will visit the Arco Chato (Flat Arch), located at the ruins of Saint Dominic’s Convent. This unique version of the Roman Arch defies engineering principles and was used to persuade the United States government to build the Canal in Panamanian territory. The guide will share insights about the history of this structure and personal local experiences at this site.
• Conjunto Monumental de Las Bóvedas - A Spanish military facility built in the 17th century that protected the city. Its upper battery offers a breathtaking view of modern Panama City and is the best spot to watch the sunset during the tour. It also houses historical buildings and monuments, such as:
  • The original Parliament and Supreme Court Building: designed by an Italian architect in the early 20th century and featured in a James Bond movie in 2007.
  • The French Square: a monument honoring the French Canal construction effort during the 19th century.
    This area provides a great opportunity to spot shorebirds and seabirds.
• Plaza Bolivar - A square that honors the liberator responsible for the independence of five Latin American countries.
• Plaza de la Catedral - The city’s main square where Panama’s independence was declared in 1903. It is surrounded by important buildings such as the City Hall, The Central Hotel, and the Panama Canal Museum.
