Prashar Lake is situated at an elevation of 2,730 meters above sea level. Known for its deep waters, the lake is considered sacred to the sage Prashar, who is believed to have meditated there. Encircled by snow-capped peaks, the lake features a floating island, a natural phenomenon observed worldwide. This floating land moves freely in all directions within the lake, covering 7% of its area, while the remaining 93% is water.

The temple, constructed in the 13th century, is said to have been built from a single tree, according to legend. The lake’s floating island adds to its mystery, as its depth remains undetermined, even with divers unable to measure it.
