The next stop is the renowned Venus Point, featuring a variety of historical monuments and the beauty of the marine landscape. Delve into the era of the first Europeans arriving on Tahitian soil. The excursion includes a visit to the monument dedicated to Captain James Cook, whose remarkable achievements during his stay in Tahiti significantly enhanced British navigational skills. Additionally, visit the monument dedicated to the Bounty crew, who mutinied against Captain Bligh after their stay in Tahiti. Venus Point also features a monument honoring the first Protestant missionaries to Tahiti and their efforts to convert the Polynesian population to Protestantism. Venus Point is a must-visit with its picturesque black sand beach.
- Arahoho Blowhole - Experience the incredible spot where nature has created a breathtaking attraction. The ocean surf forces air through a narrow channel, compressing it inside. - Faarumai Waterfalls - Visiting this majestic waterfall is a must-do in French Polynesia. As one of the tallest waterfalls in the area, reaching around 300 feet, the Faarumai waterfall is an impressive natural wonder. The falls are just a short 5-minute walk from the car. The surrounding area, enveloped by lush tropical vegetation, is a marvel that will energize you with mana (energy in Tahitian) as you are captivated by its beauty. To enhance the magical experience, your guide will share the famous Tahitian legend of two lovers who hid behind the rock wall long ago and, according to legend, still reside within the rock.
- Belvedere du Tahara’a - The Belvédère du Tahara’a scenic viewpoint is located in the hills above the municipality of Arue. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the island of Moorea and the bay of Matavai, where the first European settlers arrived. This is a significant historical site, marking the first encounter between the Maohi culture and Western civilization.
- Tomb of King Pomare V - Visit the site with the mausoleum of one of Tahiti’s kings, Pomare V, constructed from coral stone and shaped like a small lighthouse, featuring a red door and a red Greek-style urn on top. Originally built for Queen Pomare IV, her son later had her remains exhumed. A few years later, Pomare V passed away due to alcoholism, and his remains were interred in the mausoleum. The mausoleum faces the sea, offering a beautiful view of the Tahitian coast.
