Great introduction to Costa Rica - I am so glad my husband and I did this tour! Jorge was an amazing source of knowledge about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. We are casual birders and we learned so much about bird behavior and about the birds of this area of Costa Rica. We saw so many birds that we would have missed on our own. He also has a vast knowledge of the plants and ecology of the area. This trip is well worth the time and cost! And take advantage of his offer to share binoculars. My backpacking ones were barely adequate.

Jorge is an excellent birding guide - Jorge was an excellent birding guide and enjoyable to be with. With his guidance, we not only saw numerous bird species but also monkeys and tiny frogs. Jorge can find the birds because he knows their sounds and habits. He gave us great views of many birds in his scope.

A raving review: Jorge’s Tapantí Birding Tour is an unforgettable experience. - Experiencing Tapantí alongside Jorge, a most experienced guide, has been a highlight of my trip to the Orosi Valley. Jorge has a wealth of knowledge all things historical, cultural, botanical, a walking encyclopedia indeed, that he effortlessly delivers in both English and Spanish. His tour helped me slow down and discover with deep appreciation. Equipped with several binoculars, the birding experience here was one of a kind! As a local native, Jorge Jorge’s deep caring and fascination for the natural environment are truly contagious. Jorge is an accomplished photographer alongside his listening and tracking skills. If you are reading this truly raving review, I hope you consider choosing one or several of his tours.

Excellent tour! - Great tour with Jorge who was so knowledgeable about the birds, the environment, the culture of Costa Rica and, the Orosi Valley! We are very amateur birders and he was very patient with us and made sure we understood how best to locate all the birds. He sent us a great summary of the species we had seen and lovely photos of our time together!

Jorge was great! - Jorge was a great guide! He was very responsive and helpful in all ways! The National Park Website wasn't working to book our entry tickets to Tapanti so he did it himself and we just paid him back. He is very observant and we saw 18 different species. He sent us great photos from our time together and the full list of species we saw. He answered many questions about the region and Costa Rica in general. His environmental knowledge is extensive! Tapanti is beautiful and very lightly visited. Muchas gracias Jorge!

Rainforest birds and more! - My husband and I birded at Tapantí with Ernesto. He was awesome! He knew so much about birds, plants, bugs - everything! He was also super quick getting the scope set up for us to see things up close. We would definitely bird with him again. Jorge was easy to communicate with. All in all, would highly recommend.

Excellent Birding Guide - We spent half a day watching birds with Jorge two weeks ago. He is an excellent naturalist and bird guide. Unfortunately Tapanti National Park was closed due to landslide destruction of roads in the the park. Jorge brought us to several locations with different habitats ending in the cloud forest next to the park. He is an excellent bird identifier both by sight and call. We saw over 40 different species of birds. He has a good sense of humor. He really cares about the Costa Rican environment and educating people about it. I highly recommend spending some time with him. Pura Vida

Birding in Tapanti - Don't Miss it! - Our guide, Luis, was on time, on topic and totally a great guide to all that Tapanti has to offer. He supplied the spoting scope, the binoculars and lots of tips for finding and identifying birds through out our 3 hours together. Tapanti is a beautiful park - uncrowded and lush with both flora and fauna. Don't miss this opportunity to see it from a local's perspective.

Well worth booking - We employed a terrific expert Carlos, to be our private guide. The park is very quiet as it has ne major tourist features (bar, restaurant, gifts). It takes circa 2.5 to 3 hours to walk the 2 routes. It is very much natural with some man made paths, so it is for the more expert rather than beginner bird watcher. Carlos was able to add value with his knowledge of flora and fauna as well as his bird skills, visual and aural.
