• Paris - The day begins with a pick-up at 8:00 am from your accommodation in a luxurious Mercedes van, accompanied by a wine-certified guide who will be with you throughout the day. During the drive, the guide will outline the day’s itinerary and gather information to tailor the experience to your preferences.
• Chatillon-sur-Marne - The first stop is at a family-owned independent winery. Here, you will explore the legacy and passion of a sixth-generation winemaker. They have a unique story, a terroir to share, and exquisite bubbles for you to taste. You’ll learn about a genuine French winemaker, visit nearby vineyards, understand the Champagne production process, and tour the production site and cellar. Three different cuvées (Champagnes) will be tasted, with explanations of their distinctions.
• Chatillon-sur-Marne - Enjoy a stroll through the vineyard, taking in the stunning panoramas of Champagne. Your wine-certified guide will discuss the terroir and the vine’s growth cycle, answering any questions you may have.
• Epernay - The journey continues to Epernay, a twenty-minute drive through classic Champagne landscapes, still accompanied by your wine-certified guide.
• Avenue de Champagne - Lunch will be at a bistronomic restaurant, where you can savor fine French cuisine. A table will be reserved for you, though lunch is not included in the tour price.
• Avenue de Champagne - Stroll along Avenue de Champagne, home to some of the most prestigious Champagne houses. Your guide will share the history and stories of this avenue and its renowned Champagne houses.
• Avenue de Champagne - Visit Moët & Chandon: Explore the Gallo-Roman cellars of this prestigious Champagne house, carved between the 4th and 15th centuries, where vintages are aged, some for centuries. A Moët & Chandon guide will lead the tour, and you will taste two different cuvées (Champagnes).
• Hautvillers - The tour proceeds to Hautvillers, still under the guidance of your wine-certified expert. Hautvillers is a place where Champagne truly comes to life. This village, emblematic of the Champagne vineyards, is the birthplace of Champagne. It was here that Dom Pérignon perfected the Champagne method, elevating the wine to the king of wines.
• Abbaye Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers - Hautvillers, the Cradle of Champagne: As you wander the winding lanes, admire the original panels created by winemakers on their house facades. Part of a former Benedictine abbey, the Abbaye St-Pierre d’Hautvillers, founded in AD 650 by St. Nivard, bishop of Reims, is richly adorned with 17th-century woodwork. This is where the esteemed monk Dom Pérignon is laid to rest.
