Highlight of our stay in Paris - What an amazing afternoon with Olivia! I’m not sure what we enjoyed more…the food or our time with her! Olivia was very knowledgeable about the history of Le Marais and the shops that we visited and the food was such a treat!

A deliciously fun and informative eating spree - Our food tour was all about Ingrid. She led us through fine eateries, presented history and French culture, made us laugh, watched out for our safety as we walked through the streets, and gave me an appreciation of French cuisine. We had a wonderful time because of Ingrid, our leader!

Just OK food was excellent. Tour Guide was OK. - The food stops on this tour were excellent and some amazing items that tasted from the marais district. Things that I didn’t like, though were one the tour operator was late and not prepared for the tour. She arrived exactly at the time of the tour and not as specified 15 minutes before in addition, she didn’t have waters or anything else for the participants and bought waters from a local store but instead of buying just a simple small 500 mL bottle of water she ended up getting large 1 L bottles which were very difficult to carry around. In addition, she moved at such a pace that she only communicated things while walking to the people in the front and on critical issues regarding the tour that the people in the back did not get. If it wasn’t for our tour meets, who were up ahead, telling us some of the details we would not have known keep portions of the details of the tour. I did not like the fact that we only sat down in one restaurant all the rest places were standup. There was not enough explanation of how the tour work and although she is very knowledgeable about the area and the food, overall it was an OK experience. I’ve been on probably 20 food tours, and this was the worst out of all of them. Another issue with this tour was that when she went to a cheese shop or boulangerie, she ended up having to wait in line with other customers to buy the products. Previously, in my other food tours, the company has already preserved spots and times and has worked out an arrangement with the vendor so that the tour operator just immediately gets their food or orders and then has a space for the tour people to sit or be accessible, given the fact that we only had one place to sit down and the fact that we were waiting for 10 minutes while she was waiting in line it was sort of a wasted experience. I would recommend that they make sure that they have reservations with each of the places even if it’s just pre-called in pre-ordered with the items are going to be especially on things where you don’t have a choice of what kind of food you’re gonna have. In this case she chose all the items for us so they could’ve easily have called. Had pre-ordered it and had it ready to go and not wasted our time for about a total of 30 minutes, waiting in lines. All of the items of food were excellent, except for maybe the falafel that didn’t really seem to be that exciting. Susan is very knowledgeable, but she still needs to learn a little bit more about how to make sure that all people are incorporated into the tour there was one time where I stepped back to take photos and when I turned around, I could not find the tour at all. I had to run and try to find them and luckily caught a view of one of our tour mates and was able to catch up with them. When I caught up with the group, her comment was, I’m wondering why I had one extra Pain du chocolate. She needs to have better management skills as a Tour Guide to make sure she incorporates everybody and keeps track of everybody throughout the process. Hopefully with some of these upgrades, the tour will be excellent.
