Fantastic tour of the Louvre - My niece and I had the absolute best experience with this tour. Jerome pointed out details that we would never in a million years have noticed and put everything into both an art history and a regular history context. I had visited the Louvre many times but it was my niece’s first trip—both of us learned a lot and were glad not to get lost. (Wandering around aimlessly is fun but you will miss a lot.) Do yourself a big favor and book!

Small group with great background information giving the novice understanding of the famous artworks! - Patrick was a fantastic guide who made this tour fun and very informative. Explaining the various artworks from a historical point of view and in context meant that we got much more insight than having done the tour on our own. Actually, other travellers we met regretted going to the Lourve in their own as it can be very overwhelming! Highly recommend this tour and well done Patrick :)

Rainy day at the Louvre - We had booked the tour via the les frenchies website, having watched their videos over the years and wanting to support them as well. The tour company had confirmed a week before and then on the day of the trip. Sadly it was a cold rainy day in Paris but that's a perfect day to explore the Louvre. Our guide, Achilles, a local Parisian with an unbridled passion of Art, passed on to him from his grande mere. Wonderful that he gave us that bit of personal info as it gave us a connection. After rallying the other two couples, he brought us in and started what happened to be 1.5 hours a love story to life, art, and the artists that shared their passion with the rest of the world. He wove a tapestry of historical and modern lore, starting with how and what the Louvre started as and how it evolved. I won't spoil his retelling but he did a wonderful job of providing analgoies and trying with his perfect English to help the unlearned, like me, appreciate what the artists tried to convey. I can say going into the room with the Mona Lisa is quite brutal with all the people smashed together to capture a photo. Thus we saw her from afar but understood, from Achilles teachings, the amount of work that went into her unfinished being. Thanks again and hopefully our next visit will have such a great guide.

An Unforgettable Louvre Experience with Monty! - Our two-hour private tour of the Louvre with Monty was one of the highlights of our family trip and truly exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we met him, Monty’s warmth, professionalism, and passion for art and history were obvious. What set him apart most was his ability to adapt on the fly: when one family member needed wheelchair accommodations at the last minute, Monty handled it with grace and efficiency, adjusting our route and pacing so everyone could enjoy the experience comfortably. It made all the difference and showcased his thoughtful, guest-first approach. Monty’s knowledge of the Louvre was astonishing. Whether explaining the logistical flow of the museum or diving deep into the stories behind masterpieces, his insights were rich, engaging, and tailored to our family’s interests. He brought the art to life with engaging stories and details that kept both adults and kids interested, making every stop meaningful, not just memorable. One of our favorite parts of the tour was exploring the Napoleon III Apartments. Monty guided us through these beautifully preserved rooms and expertly explained their context within the museum and French history. His descriptions of the ornate décor and imperial symbolism gave us a real sense of the era. Monty’s enthusiasm was contagious, his explanations thoughtful, and his storytelling brought the Louvre’s treasures to life for every member of our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He elevated what could have been an overwhelming museum visit into a personal, inspiring, and joyful adventure. Highly recommended, especially for first-time visitors, or anyone who wants more than just a walk through the galleries. Monty is outstanding!

Excellent day at the Louvre! - Our guided tour of the Louvre was with Monty who did a fantastic job pointing out the highlights and providing suggestions for how to spend some additional time inside. This tour is excellent for passing by some of the crowds with the “group” only lines so you can enjoy time in the museum instead of waiting in line all day. Monty knew quite a bit about the museum and the history but also knowledge of modern events which was quite interesting, too!
