Discover the exquisite collection of Japanese engravings displayed in several rooms, arranged in the manner chosen by the master of Giverny himself. Claude Monet’s estate at Giverny, bequeathed by his son to the Académie des Beaux-arts in 1966, has been transformed into the Claude Monet Foundation following extensive restoration work, and was inaugurated in 1980. The expansive Nymphéas studio, located just a short distance from the house, has also been restored and now houses the Foundation’s Shop.

• The Clos Normand - Fondation Claude Monet - Spend time in the gardens, which have been replanted to their original splendor, offering visitors the “painting from nature” that Monet’s contemporaries regarded as one of his masterpieces. The rectangular Clos Normand, with archways of climbing plants intertwined with vibrantly colored shrubs, lies in front of the house and studios, presenting a palette of changing colors from Spring to Autumn to the painter-gardener who was “ecstatic about flowers.”
• The Clos Normand - Fondation Claude Monet - Finally, the Water Garden, created by a tributary of the Epte, is situated further away, shaded by weeping willows. Featuring its renowned Japanese Bridge, wisterias, azaleas, and pond, it has once again become the enchanting setting of sky and water that inspired the artistic world of the water lilies.
