The Musée d’Orsay houses the largest collection of Impressionist art in the world. Approximately one-third of all Impressionist paintings displayed in museums globally can be found in this exquisite former railway station, constructed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition and converted into a museum in 1986. During our tour, you’ll discover the fascinating history of this locale, which has served as a movie set, a garage for Nazi Germans, and ultimately as Paris’s premier museum for 19th-century art. We’ll explore and discuss significant artworks, like the model of the Statue of Liberty, sculptures by Auguste Rodin, Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, Aristide Maillol, and not surprisingly, paintings by impressionists like Manet, Monet, Degas, Rodin, Latour, Cezanne, Sisley, Van Gogh, and Gauguin.
