Come for the view stay for the people - The hike was rough but my 2 guides Phub Tshering and Sonam Dorji also my driver Nima really made this trip! I couldn’t have done it without them! My favorite moments were mostly the time when we were just talking about life. I really enjoyed learning about life in Bhutan. If you are a solo female traveler and have doubts about the trip , there really is nothing to worry about. Bhutan is a safe country. I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe with my guides and driver .

Best of Bhutan - This was a great general itinerary for seeing major highlights of Bhutan over the course of a few days. The sites chosen to visit were all amazing and reflected Bhutan’s culture and history well. The hotels during the trip were all clean and pleasant. The monastic stay was truly special and enjoyable. Probably above all else, the guides, Inda Dorji and Ugyaen Wangchuk, were exceptionally professional, friendly, helpful, and informed on any and all subjects that came across during the tour or in conversation. If you wanted to visit Bhutan on about a five day timeline, I would absolutely recommend this option.

Solo Tour of Bhutan - I traveled with Bhutan Best Inbound Tours earlier this month and had the joy of having Tandin Dorji (as my guide) and Pema (our driver) accompany me around the Paro area. They went above and beyond the scheduled itinerary and Tandin was always on top of getting me more water (or even an ice cream on a hot afternoon!) or whatever else I would need. One of my favourite add-on activities was going to the Astrological Monastery and having my future read by one of the monks. Pema was an excellent driver despite the zigzag roads and having to dodge cows, dogs and unexpected slow drivers in rental cars. My highlight of the trip was hiking up to Tiger's Nest, it was a lot of stairs but worth the climb. I did also really enjoy our full day spent with the monks in Dodeydra; that was a unique experience and unlike anything I've done while traveling before. Tandin even hotspoted me wifi when we were staying at the Monastery so I could check-in with family. I felt safe and well cared for during my trip.

A Phenomenal Experience a All Around. - I had an absolutely phenomenal time in Bhutan on the Best of Bhutan tour. My guide, Ugyen, and driver, Mr. Chita, were excellent. They were both exceptionally accommodating if I ever wanted to pull over and take a picture or try Bhutanese cuisine. They both dedicated themselves thoroughly to me having the best experience possible. I came to Bhutan with some specific requests, as I was traveling on an art fellowship, and they prioritized carving out time for me to draw and take pictures along the tour. Ugyen’s knowledge of Bhutanese history was great and he was able to answer any of my questions during my visits regarding art, artifacts, and buildings. He even organized an interview with a monk, which was well beyond my expectations for the trip. I had the opportunity to stay at three different three star hotels and the monastery. My stay stay at the Dodedrak monastery was probably the highlight of my trip, but Paro Taktsang and Punakha Dzong were also splendid. Of my hotels, I was very impressed with City Heritage and Silver Cloud, which I would honestly rate well above three stars for service, food, and accommodations. Everywhere in the country the people were kind and the service was exceptional, from Ugyen and Mr. Chita, to the the more organized lunch places and even the local places Ugyen took me to. I think what was truly remarkable about Ugyen is he understood my interests in being in Bhutan and catered to them, taking me to local Momo spots (which were both phenomenal) and places were I could find Yaks and Wild Langur’s, going beyond the itinerary. I would highly recommend this tour and you would be quite fortunate to have Ugyen as your guide!

From Peru to Bhutan: Monastic Magic and Impeccable Service - We returned from Bhutan with a full heart. My husband and I traveled with guide Phub Tshering and driver Hem Raj: excellent people, attentive and always willing to help. The hotels exceeded our expectations and, above all, the stay with the monks was the most memorable point of the trip. The warmth of the local people made each encounter a special memory. An adventure we would repeat without hesitation!

Brilliant tour over 12 days - We had a wonderful 12 days guided by Mr Phub Thsering who led us brilliantly. Our accommodation ranged from tents in campsites to home stays, eco lodges and hotels in both Thimbu and Paro. The trip was put together by Madhu in the office who was very efficient and helpful. Phub’s guiding was highly professional. He have us some amazing experiences of this remarkable country. He was fun, insightful and had huge knowledge of nature, the country’s social and historical base, and of its culture from which we learnt greatly. We could not have asked more of our guide. He was assisted by a brilliant young driver in whom we had absolute confidence. Choki Dorji was very safe and reliable as well as exceptionally good company. He and Phub made a great team. We could not have enjoyed Bhutan more. It is a remarkable country with so much to commend it.

Wind Horse Tours Bhutan - We have just returned from Bhutan. I think we enjoyed this trip more than any other. The reviews on this site are 10 years old. I just finished reading and you should know that things have changed a lot. Number one it is easy to find an ATM. We had no problem. Bring small US bills is not necessary nor wanted. People are fantastic and so kind and gentle and generous. Always smiling. Locals make you feel so welcome. There are so many beautiful things to see. Nature, temples, animals, hikes, etc. This is a very special country. We had Tenzin as our guide and Leki as our driver. I recommend them both so highly. They are the best. They can be reached through Wind Horse Tours Bhutan. They took care of everything and made sure we were happy and comfortable every minute. We plan to return to Bhutan and hope that you will find this information helpful and that you will go too!

A well-balanced tasting experience for first timer to Bhutan - Essentially a 4-day trip (the last day is only a transfer to airport), but it's just about the right length for a highlight first visit to Bhutan. The iconic Tiger's Nest is certainly the climax, with good weather and a blue sky, the view makes the 4-6 hour return hike pay off. The one night stay in the monastery guest house is an interesting experience for a taste of the life of monks. Accommodation is more than good, not luxuary though. Food is mostly of self-served buffet type with a few dishes per meal, mostly veggies cooked in Bhutan or Indian style, with usually only 1 dish of chicken meat. Taste is good enough. Entire trip run in a private tour with a single supplement for solo traveler, earned with the advantage of flexibility as the guide and driver would be willing to offer help. Generally speaking, it is a nice trip for leisure and nature-lover traveler, who may not be ready for hardcore long distance trekking nor too obsessive with shopping or religiously-loaded cultural experience.
